i will say it probably isn't easy to be heccin stoic when the human bean right beside you just got his brains, or his guts, or both, splattered all over you by a .50 cal machine gun or a mortar

lol do you mean in war? PTSD is kinda different, I don't think there's any human who can come out of that without psychological damage. even then, the best working therapeutic approaches involve features of stoicism. tfw no wife is peanuts next to war trauma though

i'd imagine that war trauma is much more acute but intermittent long-term, and no waifu trauma (if it can be called trauma) is much less powerful but more grinding long-term
