Are there a disproportionate amount of lolcows from the South?

Would you count place of residence or place of birth? For example, Brianna Wu lives in Massachusetts, but is from Mississippi--would it be fair to Massachusetts to include her in its state count? And in reverse, Amberlynn Reid is from California but lives in Kentucky.
