Growing up, we were taught in the US that people like Muammar Gaddafi, Saddam Hussein, Ayatollah Khomeini etc were evil personified. But Gaddafi was right when he said he was the only thing keeping the African hordes out of Europe, Saddam was right that he was the only thing keeping Iraq together, Khomeini was right that the CIA has installed the Shah and that they had to take drastic measures to retake their country from being just another US pawn.

Each of them did some heinous shit too, but the prevailing idea that these guys were all Palpatine incarnate doesn't hold up if you look objectively at the facts. Any US president over the last 40 years has a higher body count than any of them, and that area of the world isn't any better or more peaceful now than before.

I do know of one Manga artist who gets way too much hate to the point I cannot even fathom. They complained her works were unconventional when in reality that is the best part about her works that no one dares to even expand upon. She's very nice too for the most part but the negligence made her very mentally unstable. She has every right to be envious about said person if the one being awarded is making rehashed slop.

I often come to terms that even my most respected head of states have blood on their hands as well. But I really do agree that Gadaffi, Hussein and Khomeini are much more respectable than any US president in the last 40 years.
