I definitely think thats a huge element of it, when you keep seeing the same patterns of behaviour exhibited in society and online for so long It begins to just weigh down upon you. But even after all of this you should still attmept to try and see so e kind of positivity in the world, for your own sakes otherwise the mindset just equates to Nihilism or God forbid, Antinatilism. Taking time to enjoy and discuss things that you enjoy is important. I do wish we wouldn't act as if we're the smartest place on the internet though, this idea of dark enlightenment that right wingers preach is stupid and people seem to forget we came from 4chan and websites like something awful so we have no right to complain about retardation. I think we need to remember that.

The point is, when you allow anyone to join a website like this, you of course are going to at some point attract some of the worst and pathetic people on the planet, or people who are definitely shitheads or spastics of some variety. The lolcow fandom community will obviously attract people who have all sorts of catskins and shady shit of their own, as we can see with so many people being Halal'ed here these days. We are not impenetrable and attract just as much degeneracy as any other chan, we should stop pretending were not.

Hell even former moderators like @champchorn himself and some of our highest quality users left ages ago and are nowhere to be seen. They thin the site has become uglier and a shell of its former self, if thats coming from them than maybe that says a lot about this place then huh?
