If you're young and healthy, you're probably better off being immunized through catching covid and recovering. About half the people I know have had covid at some point, none of them came close to needing to be hospitalized. I'm pretty sure I got it in the early days before testing was widely available, which is why I haven't caught it despite having close contact with covid+ people multiple times since.

This has happened to people I know who are currently missing out on the best years of their lives sleeping 16 hours a day and barely the energy to walk around the block. They're still alive but does that sound like living to you? Their excuse at least is that vaccines were not available to them when they caught COVID. It is unclear when or indeed if they will recover.

Being young and fit helps with good clinical outcomes but nobody knows for sure. You are gambling with your future.

I acknowledge covid is contagious and potentially fatal to a small portion of the population but now there's overwhelming evidence that shows the vaccine is effective for those at risk people. The virus will mutate regardless of vaccination rates in America cause we live in a global world. It'll mutate somewhere else and wind up here before we know what's going on.
