Be objective and look even at recent history at the problems which have resulted from doctor malfeasance and incompetence. Hell, any of the big pharma issues such as Vioxx, Paxil, Wellbutrin etc from the last several years - those all had doctors who were more than happy to churn those pills out like candy, without knowing much about them other than whatever published research the pharmaceutical reps brought to the hospital on the day they were doling out samples and whoring for investments. Because that is how the medical system in the US works these days, and it has been for decades. Why do you think the US has had an ongoing opioid epidemic for so long? Do you believe it's because millions of people just woke up one day and decided it'd be fuckin awesome to shoot some heroin? Or do you believe that your garden variety opioid addict is cunning and clever enough that they just happen to be master class actors capable of deceiving trained medical professionals on a consistent basis? The doctors you see getting arrested for overprescribing things like narcotics are just the ones that get stupid, there are many more of them that "know" on some level the patient they are handing the pills to is likely to immediately snort a couple as soon as they get in the car in the parking lot, but they go ahead and hand them over any way because that's the only way their pals in the pharma industry collect their share.

Even if you choose to ignore all the other shit I just typed, if you can listen to and absorb this one thing I promise you it will serve you well in life - Just because someone has a title and education in a field does not mean they are always right about things. Opium was introduced as a treatment for pain management so it had medicinal purposes at least when compared to cigarettes which have no real purpose outside of some people enjoy smoking, it was a product people bought that is taxed and generated a lot of short term money. Not to mention Most doctors did not agree with smoking only the odd one who was bought off by big tobacco in the same vane as the small proportion of doctors hocking ivermectin as an effective treatment for covid. As for doctors promoting vaccines is self explanatory whether this vaccine is as effective as they say or not there is reason to support the use of vaccines since there is proof that in the past they can work to eradicate disease full stop.
