Are you getting the vaccine? - Absolute trashfire thread, please enter with caution

I never have - as far as people being scarred to death over the fear of catching a disease to the point of irrationality and superstitious thinking, what can you expect?
Try walking outside without a mask, and see how many put theirs on before they're about to pass you. Or better yet, try walking into a store without a mask and see how yiu get treated.

What will it take to convince you guys? So all of the academic institutions, all of the politicians (I agree that they're full of shit), and all of the academic papers that show that this vaccine is safe and very effective in reducing severe covid cases aren't enough.

Vaccines have been distributed for weeks now. It's gone smoothly, and I've looked at the data for adverse reactions. Most of the serious ones are anaphylactic reactions (which is a chance for any vaccine) and after treatment with epinephrine they were totally fine. That's better than them having permament damage from COVID and potentially dying.

Other than time, say if some medical journal or reputable source came out right now that it's safe, would that change your mind? Or is time the only answer?

If you think time is the way to see, you're basically saying that the old and at risk should be guinea pigs for the rest of us, which is immoral imo. You should volunteer yourself for the vaccine for the benefit of society.
You have too much faith in academic institutions and scientists. They're marching to the tune that someone else sets, like politicians. Remember that they need funding from "generous" donors.

My experiences with doctors have been wretched, so I can't say that I trust that they'd always do what is in the best interest of a patient when I've seen and heard the opposite.

I've also seen the COVID situation used as a political bludgeon to silence critics or destroy enemies, and I have seen doctors and other esteemed academics play along with it.

I've also seen older people with histories of smoking and congestive heart failure (along with obesity and diabetes) contract COVID, and it was nothing more than a flu to them with no long-lasting effects. I believe more and more that it affects certain people a certain way because of some genetic variance more than just because they're old or weak. If people are afraid for themselves or others, by all means, let them guard themselves. I am not their nannies, nor are they mine.

And no, the lockdowns and masks will not end with the vaccines. Several authority figures have stated that the masks either will or should continue to be worn after vaccination.

I have no plans to get the vaccine that I'm being threatened with. I have had COVID, and it did not affect my life in any meaningful manner.

Seconded.

Um... then put the mask on? Problem solved.

Stores are private businesses and can deny service based on health concerns. I've forgotten to wear the mask a couple times and nothing happened to me. Some people need to just get a life.

No, I don't really feel like it. If it isn't obvious to you that the state is outsourcing it's tyranny to the private sector then I don't know what else i can say.
Cool - weren't you the one who was just griping about "private sector" companies who refuse to service customers who don't wear a mask?

I had a dose of AstraZeneca a few weeks ago.

I walked, in total, around four miles, to and from the vaccination centre (a local theatre with all the seats taken out) as I thought that it might be a good idea to get my circulation going, so that Bill Gates' mind control nanobots would be more efficiently distributed around my body.

I had a sore arm for a couple of days afterwards, though mildly less sore than what I usually get from the flu jab. I was a little disappointed to be honest. I did not develop any blood clots. Post vaccination, I do not think that I am any more autistic than the normal baseline for members of these forums. Maybe they save the autism booster for the second dosage which I will be receiving at the end of May.

There was never any question that I wouldn't get the vaccine as soon as I was able. I am fairly fit, but I have a long term condition that would play against me if I caught COVID-19.

I used to work for the NHS. I know some very mentally-resilient nurses, who are ordinarily able to keep a level head when things are kicking off, but who were utterly broken by their experiences during peak pandemic. None of these girls are drama queens. They were just pushed past their limit. I don't think people appreciate quite how bad things were on the frontline of healthcare.

thats because astrazeneca sucks so stop taking it

maybe if you were still in the EU youd have people with brains tell you to not use that vaccine but instead you have Anglos running the show in Angland

I would say I trust covid not to kill me more than I trust the medical manufacturing with not killing me. At this point I have a 0.0005% chance of death from covid (especially now that the virus is happy with the president and declining), I can't say I have better odds with the vaccine.

Hell no! It's COVID, not fucking polio. Not a chance I get this bullshit vaccine.

Had COVID a couple times now. Was not bad. Take your vitamins, don't smoke and go for a walk every day and you're fine.
Alright this is gonna sound dumb but how would I know if I have covid or have had it? There was one point where my smell and taste seemed not as strong for a about a week? Then things got back to normal. I feel as fine as I did before.

Definitively you would need to be tested for the COVID antibodies. Otherwise with the symptoms you describe it could have been a bunch of different things.

I am not a doctor. This is medical advice. Inject bleach just in case.

I inject bleach anally every sunday after church.

If they force it - then I'll have to take it, especially if they'll force it if you wanna get on an international flight, because I'd like to see my girl.

I don't like the prospect though, because I've spent a huge chunk of my life in hospitals and I really don't like doctors.
