What's with the insults? I'm trying to understand your point, and it's hard to do that when you act like a rabid dog snarling at anyone who doesn't agree with you.
I would prefer to not take the risk with a rushed vaccine with 0 long term studies done on the side effects when it's been shown that any positive effect it has has been massively reduced thanks to the mutations, and I'm not interested in lining the pockets of big pharma either.

Also the idea that vaccines are some huge boon to pharma is nonsense. They wouldn't even bother making these things if the government didn't practically dragoon them into it. They're not that profitable and would be outright money-losers with all the lawsuits generally involved, frivolous and otherwise. Even given blanket immunity and literally paid to do it, they drag their heels. This is all vaccines, not this coof shit (which probably has been a windfall for a change).

Pharma hates shit you take once (or even a couple times) and then whatever you took it for is gone. That's why they're so shitty at getting new antibiotics. Generally after a course of antibiotics, if it worked, you no longer have whatever you took it for. You're not going to be a repeat customer.

Yes, I pointed that out, and that this is common practice with vaccines in general since, I believe, 1902 with the U.S. Biologics Control Act. Contrary to popular belief, this doesn't preclude recovery for damages from vaccines, which do in fact happen from time to time. They're just handled in an administrative manner where certain injuries receive fixed payments. It saves money litigating these claims. Something similar is done with asbestos claims and, as another example, the 9/11 victims fund.

A lot of people (moreso in the happenings thread) think I'm Pro-Russian or Pro-Putin and that's fair enough. I do want Russia to win just cause they will eventually win and I'd rather they do so swiftly so less people die. It's just the reality of the situation.

I was talking to a colleague from Ukraine, she still has family over there. Her elderly mother is stuck in Kiev, I can't imagine how stressful the past few weeks have been for her.

In the West, we get trapped into thinking in terms of black and white, but it's always more complicated than that. My colleague hates Putin and is a westernized neocon (as many immigrants from the soviet bloc tend to be). But her mother, who can hear the gunfire and bombs every day, is Pro-Russia. Idk if it's a generational thing where the older folks long for the days of the Soviet Union or what. But it flies in the face of the way it's been presented to us Westerners.

Anyway, I felt terrible for her and donated some bandages, advil and anti-bacterial wipes to the victims. So I must be a pretty bad Putin shill.
