A better explanation is the relationship between authority and responsibility.

If the government claims responsibility over providing healthcare, they will also necessarily begin claiming the authority tailor policy to contain costs.

That would probably be ok in a high trust society, but we have problems with the value return of big social projects because the majority of money disappears into “administration,” which is a code word for nepotism and corruption, like the classic example of rewarding no bid contracts to companies that happen to bundle campaign contributions.

I don’t watch Fox and if it were up to me, you couldn’t have speculative paper billionaires because that shit is too abstract to reflect reality. Since almost no billionaires have billions liquid in accounts but rather “are valued” at billions depending on hypothetical asset sales prices, I have a problem with that whole concept.

I don't disagree that the ultra-wealthy find tax loopholes and they need to be brought to heel. The problem for you is the liberal democratic system you worship is too limp wristed to go after them in a meaningful way.
