For the last time, it's about the recent Covid Spike protein study which the Salk Institute explained, regarding the S protein being capable of causing cellular damage even without the virus, how the S protein is dangerous if allowed to flow freely through the blood and how it could be tied to the issue of blood clots or more. Also that every single Covid vaccine causes the body to "express" these dangerous S proteins.

Back to the point of the thread and my focus in it: Concerns about/against the Covid vax are legitimate. That is all.

I got the vaccine. I got both doses but I didn’t notice anything. Some people I knew stated they got the chills or it made their arm very sore. I suspect I got covid early on because I work with a lot of people who travel. I didn’t react to it at all.

I have a lot of contacts in poorer countries like Latin-America due to my work, and I've made sure to ask them what their situations are. They have basically no access to the vaccine at all. If their governments are claiming to be vaccinating people, they're lying, flat out. It's not available, period. Yet of the 20+ people I know in a society where huge, multi-generational families are common, not a single person has lost a relative to Covid. Have some of them caught it? Yes. Have any of them died? No. These are people from extremely poor demographics with almost no access whatsoever to modern healthcare, and yet the varus is such a complete fucking non-entity in their lives that they react with confusion and amusement when I ask them about the mountains of corpses that are supposed to be piling up in their towns and cities according to western media.

That's flat out not true. The vaccine is not available for anyone who wants it, but most of Latin America has vaccinated at least a percentage of their medical frontlines and their ultra elderly. Minor powerlevel but due to circumstantial occurrences (they needed someone and I was there, basically) I had to go as a volunteer to help manage a vaccination center at a remote semi rural town, which amounted to me asking people to make a line and to fill out a form.

It's true that it's hit some places more than others, cities were predictably the worst and there's something about extreme jungle climate that makes this virus less transmissible or something. I can't cite any studies but that's what it seems to me based on the data. Populated cities tend to be geographically located in zones with more liveable climates. That being said, if you lived in a place that was hit by covid, it hit hard. I suppose that's what I can say about Latin America in general. Also that there are plenty of things more imminently life threatening for your average, say, Guatemalan than Covid but he'd probably not care about those either. That's just what living here does to you.

When unequal access to vaccines (not only to the covid vaccine, just vaccines in general) is a legitimate issue then good for them and their gay awareness campaign. I’d say the benefits of being vaccinated outweigh the risks of catching it and recovering you don’t know how it’s going to impact you if you get the virus. Some people might say the same thing about the vaccine if they are skeptical but I prefer to give my body some target practice against the virus and be ready to defend itself. If we are all vaccinated we won’t have to worry about carriers spreading it because the fact is it’s not solely about you. The hospitals need to be able to run without the strain of a pandemic on the public health system, at least where I’m at we all pay for healthcare out of our taxes and it’s expensive to not have people vaccinated and let this drag on any further in pockets where infection arise and hospital emergency rooms are operating at a reduced capacity to treat other emergencies.

It has only been a little over a year since the spread of the coof. I think it will take much longer to conduct sound and robust retrospective studies on the long term effects of the virus among different age and sex groups to say exactly what kind of effects the virus had on various organs and bodily systems.
