Are you getting the vaccine? - Absolute trashfire thread, please enter with caution

More contagious than the flu? Does transmissibility mean lethality?
Well, 600k+ Americans died from it last year. The flu doesn't kill that many.

Does herd immunity remove the virus from the population? Is that what you're saying? So once the population is immune, it ceases to exist?
Yes? How do you think polio was (mostly) eradicated. It's cute how you think you know more than scientists and doctors when you don't even know how herd immunity works

How exactly do you know where new people are coming from? Is everyone who disagrees with your views from /pol/? Gotten worse how? Last time I checked, Null wants for the forum to evolve.
It's pretty obvious most of you spazes are from /pol/

So unless you are a left-leaning, college educated person of color, you are forbidden to ask questions and request explanation for things? Are you saying that one should submit oneself under authority without a proper understanding of what one is submitting to?
There's nothing wrong with asking questions, but when you just put your hands in your ears and tardrage over the answers because they aren't what basement dwellers on /pol/ told you, then yeah, it makes you a retard. So congrats on that.

I personally will not unless I absolutely have to (many employers, universities, and even countries want you to collect shots like Pokemon). I don't work with people/strangers at all, so I am in a very low-risk group and others "need" it more than me anyway. By the time they become available cheaply/routinely, they won't be a big deal. I am in no hurry and don't need to deprive someone else of their shot.
Update: I'm moving to Cali in a few months for school (bittersweet situation) and the institution absolutely requires everyone to have *a* vaccine and have it done 2 weeks before setting foot on campus. Because of this, I got my IngSoc membership jab (Pfizer, round 1). Honestly wasn't that bad -- standard flu shots seemed far worse tbh (heard the 2nd one is supposed to be worse). My only concern is I'm not convinced how effective it will be, especially with new variants that pop up. The State and school seems to arbitrarily decide what's effective w/o critically looking at the science (aka face covering talismans), so I'm worried a further slide to potentially ineffective, but authoritarian, measures "just because". Oh well, life in the big city -- gotta keep my head down and play by their rules (it will be worth it).

Enjoy being treated like second class citizens for a while 80% if us do not care that the government is punishing you for stupidity and the inability to calculate basic risk assessments with data provided which is pretty uniform around the world.
I hope the US follows France's example and starts requiring vaccine passports for work and travel.

People who got the shot shouldn't have to suffer to protect morons.

I literally said that I'm uneducated in this. How exactly do I "think" that I know more than doctors and scientists?

Is everyone you disagree with from /pol/? There's a whole wide web of places new users can come from, but just because we disagree with you, we must be from /pol/?

So, you didn't quite answer my questions. Does this mean you have no answer to provide? Should one submit oneself to authority without reservations, questions or understanding, that is, submit oneself blindly?

I'm sorry, such a blind trust in authority must be a thing you Westerners do. I mean, it's totally human too to submit yourself to a leader in times of crisis but the leadership is supposed to show firm hand. If the leadership of our respective countries and supranational organizations wouldn't have flip-flopped on essential things and had a consistent position (all the while engaging the populace with clear messaging) then maybe I'd have more trust in it.

As for the fear of death - I've experienced things that I thankfully endured and living in fear gets tiresome after a while. You just learn to embrace life as it is given and accept it'll end whenever it will. Or, rather, hope it'll be long but accept it will end anyway.
So we're just ignoring the last six months of every healthcare expert on the planet saying these vaccines are effective and safe are we?

I'd gladly help the state kick you and your fellow anti-vax retards onto a leper colony rather then deal with your willful idiocy don't you worry.

Unfortunately the government isn't that heartless anymore and wants to save your selfish ass and thus requires me to inconvenience myself to try to save you from your own stupidity.

But if you have been vaccinated, how would you suffer? Do the shots not work? Aren't you immune🙃?
Because we still have to follow restrictions to save dumbass anti-vaxxers from their own idiocy.

I don't know about any of you, but I'm waiting until all of the bugs (No pun intended.) Are ironed out of the current offerings or something that won't screw people over comes up.

Because at the moment, Pfizer and Moderna are MRNA which seems like a major wild card, AZ has the blood clot issues and governments rushing to disapprove it, and J&J seems alright, but apparently they cover up bad test results.

I am keeping an eye on the one from Novavax, because it's viral vector (Like most normal vaccines), I know some others are as well, however if there aren't too many issues with NovaVax, that might be the one I get, should it come to that point.

Too much conflicting information at the moment.

A prominent British infection specialist Neil Ferguson, one of the leading media experts advocating for lockdown decided to bend the rules for an extramarital affair. He's still considered an expert, despite not following his own proposed guidance and still has access to media.
Why wasn't this man barred from public media and no condemnation happened? Does one need to trust an expert just because he's an expert? Are experts infallible?
There's already a talk of offering a third dose of the vaccine for people, because apparently, antibodies against COVID-19 fade after time, which does make sense. But does this make sense in the long-run? Will we have to be reliant on bi-yearly injections?
Why are the experts say that vaccines are effective, if, for instance, Pfizer's vaccine is in Phase III of human studies and it will be monitored for outcomes until 2023? Do they somehow know that it's safe beyond reproach and have a knowledge from the future?

Meissa has begun pre-clinical trials on their Live Attenuated Virus (LAV) vaccine; that might be one to keep an eye on as well.

Well, when you "ask your questions", you are still refusing to listen to what the docs and scientists say.
Is everyone you disagree with from /pol/? There's a whole wide web of places new users can come from, but just because we disagree with you, we must be from /pol/?
A lot of the new tards are from /pol/.

What was the question that I didn't answer? I suspect youre "just asking questions" as a way to concern troll because I answered all your questions, you just didn't like the answer because they didn't agree with your anti-vax basement dwelling peers

But if you have been vaccinated, how would you suffer? Do the shots not work? Aren't you immune🙃?
I know you're being facetious, but Look up herd immunity.

Also, the more people are vaccinated, the less the virus has chances to mutate and create new strains.

K. So what was your plan to vaccinate 7.5 billion people before the mutations that make this vaccine ineffective happen? Please include details on active war zones, subsaharan africa, and homeless camps on the US west coast full of schizophrenic junkies.

So you're upset because I answered your question?

They've already administered 3.57 billion shots (in just over 6 months), so yeah, if people weren't so terrified of getting a vaccine because some retard on Facebook said it was bad, we could feasibly do it. And that's not even the number wasted, which I can't find a source for.

They were able to do it for polio, they could do it for covid. Except the difference is that there are groups of anti-science retards who are petrified of getting a little jab because they're beta cucks

I listen to them, yet they constantly change the guidance, just like it was with masks. If they change their opinion, why can't I be wondering about it?

A lot of the new tards are from /pol/.
So? Is everyone you disagree with is from /pol/?

concern troll
Is the lamest excuse ever invented by people who are made uncomfortable by questions that make them question their preconceived notions and beliefs.

What was the question that I didn't answer?
Let's go one by one.
Does transmissibility mean lethality?

You don't seem to be listening to them, hence your tardraging about the vaccine.

So? Is everyone you disagree with is from /pol/?
Not everyone, but a good number are.

No, you're concern trolling. "Oh, I am just asking questions!" but then you're throwing a temper tantrum when the answer isn't what you want it to be.

Let's go one by one.
Does transmissibility mean lethality?
No, but the higher it's transmitted, the more people will catch it, and thus the total deaths could go up, but on a case-by-case basis not necessarily

Since hospitals in USA are getting more funding for coronavirus patients, it creates an undeniable incentive to classify deaths as coronavirus related, especially since the requirements for this classification were relaxed. These numbers are inflated and fake.
You do know that stuff gets audited by CMS, right? There are likely a few bad actors, but generally it's pretty accurate.
