I don't really get why people are skeptical about something that'll keep you from dying from covid. sure, i don't really look at the specifics of what's in the vaccine but if it keeps me from getting ill i'm fine with it, and i've had no problems since i got the vaccine.
and i equally don't understand people that are so against wearing masks when i prefer wearing them outdoors to begin with. This pandemic just made me feel less weird about doing that.
That being said, i'm more worried about anti-vaxxers bringing covid home from god knows where and getting kids that don't have access to the vaccine or can't take it due to age or something horribly ill.

That 99/1 corrupt/not corrupt scientist ratio is quite the over exaggeration. That's not to say there aren't serious issues in the academic sciences - there are. Issues of plagiarism and reproducible research have been noted and publicized in the early 2000s and they still remain a problem today.
