It's especially pointless if they're sending their weekly reports to DOGE, since nobody in the department really knows what government agencies do/how long things take, so all they need to do is fluff up their daily tasks or outright make things up that sound absolutely vital and nobody can really call them on their bluff. Especially if they're doing it as a government wide thing, so they have weekly reports coming in from all sorts of different groups or agencies. Some IRS agent could say they were working on a project to increase the payload of nuclear weapons as a deterrent to our enemies and nobody would bat an eye and just flag it as essential work.Yeah, mandating a weekly report to the political commissar will make the administration more efficient.
More bureaucracy is always the answer.
