Holy shit what a blast from the past. Ross has always been adamant he was still going to make it but that held as much weight as arin saying he'd do metal gear awesome 3 or just animate anything for that matter. I haven't kept up with Ross since the steamtrain days so I dont know how he turned out but he seemed fine, worst thing that I saw was him do was sticking it in projared's crazy ex.
I would hope it succeeds for Ross in spite of arin but this looks like pure dog shit. The dinosaur look like fat fetish characters and its just trying so hard that it's so fucking lame.

I really wasn’t able to get much from that trailer, I have no idea what the premise of the show is. Is the fetish cat girl the protagonist or is the purple dinosaur the protagonist?

Compare that to the original Smiling Friends trailer, where they immediately start off with “Charlie and Pim, your jobs are to make people smile”, the premise is quickly explained before following up with jokes to get you interested.

This starts as a retarded take because it has the same grasp of a good idea as Learning with Pibby did before it got absolutely shit canned by WB, thus this kind of thing doesn't automatically mean it's bad.

But then you get vindicated when that ending joke happens, in which case, I agree with you. Arin just cannot seem to grasp he isn't funny. Call me optimistic, however, as I think if there's other writers than just Arin, it's not gonna be that bad. We're just gonna see the "no jontron gamegrumps" fingerprints here and there at worst.
 
I hope it’s decent because Ross is involved. Poor guy seemed to always get the short end of the stick for no other reason than the world having it out for him.
 
I also animate at 4 frames per second, but I use ms paint and don't have the backing of the biggest (or maybe second second biggest, hard to tell who's bigger between glitch and hashbrown motel) indie animation studio on youtube. Maybe if the pilot does well they'll give ross 4 or 5 more frames per second to work with.
 
It's hard to tell because the trailer told us next to nothing, but if the idea is jumping into a bunch of different video games, I hope they have unique styles or animation quirks for each. It's going to be a lot more work than just sticking with one, but it will make every world stand out and feel creative, as well as giving that feeling of looking forward to seeing what style comes next.

Ross has spent 10 years polishing this idea, so expectations are high. I'm going in with an open mind, but the addition of Arin gives me pause. Arin's animated series, Happyland whatever the fuck, was utter dogshit and rightly lasted only one episode. So I hope Ross either wrangles Arin to be funny, or Arin's addition is only because of friendship/name recognition.

To be fair, GLITCH's main target demographic was intended to be for teens and young adults, so while I may not super interested in it I could see some 13 year old liking it and getting bullied in school for wearing a shirt from Hot Topic with the yellow cat girl on it. I'm curious how well it will do considering it's their first 2D animated series.
