I'd rather have Jon, a guy who occasionally says some odd shit, over Arin, a guy who just oozes pettiness and childishness. Jon's thing with the vaccinations seems like he was just tired of people shoving things like, "BRO GET VAXXED BRO, WHEN IS SCIENCE EVER WRONG BRO?" and kinda went ham once the Fauci controversy came to light. Besides his rare outbursts (which aren't even that bad IMO), Jon's always seemed like a cool dude, while Arin always feels like he's on the verge of a temper tantrum.

ya back with that whole destiny thing the only thing he really said that was wrong i thought was the rich blacks poor whites but it turned out to be a real study and kinda proven correct in current year

honestly being kinda scared off with destiny was most likely a good thing or he might have gone down the fellow skeptic route

I think the thing that makes it look worse than it is is that most of the time when you do hear from Jon in social media it's when he's doing the rare outburst. Not that I fault him for it, social media -especially Twitter- is a disease and the more you stay away from it the better.

If you remember the buildup before he went on to debate it definitely seemed like he was heading that way. He was talking to all the popular skeptics at the time and commenting more on the topics they were talking about. I often think about how his channel would look now if he held his own in the Destiny debate. Would've probably tanked in views by now but would he have joined the progressive LARP commie grift by now like the rest of them or do you think he would've still stuck to his beliefs?
 
I've been thinking about this lately as I try to teach myself animation in my off-time, but do y'all think Arin can even animate anymore? Animation is one of those art forms you need to commit yourself to practicing daily, and it seems like Arin kinda just... abandoned it wholesale once GG and Starbomb began to turn profits.

Rate me late if you will. I haven't kept tabs on Arin since like 2016 cause I find him insufferable like many, but the thought crossed my mind on the way home from work today.

I'm currently trying to get back into it myself by reading the book that every animator, including Ross, tells beginners to read. "The Animator's Survival Kit" by Richard Williams. The introduction goes in-depth about how animation is several simple fundamentals put together, most notably, the 12 principles of animation. I feel those never leave you, and Williams himself attests to this by saying the techniques he read about when he was younger stayed with him, even after years of only working on illustrations.
Arin probably knows how to animate. His art skill itself has likely deteriorated, as does any skill that isn't polished. If he wasn't keeping up with art exercises or even the new digital tools of today, I highly doubt he could bang out consistently good artwork, and it's probably why he hires someone else to do it now. But he might still know how to legitimately "animate" and could probably grind himself into a good position. But he'll never shine a torch to Ross's works, someone who hasn't stopped and has a fire for what he's doing.
That's all hypothetically speaking, though. Arin half-asses all his projects anyway.

Considering that Game Grumps is a gaming channel, and the PS5 is, and continues to be, extremely hard to come by since its release, it makes sense that they would try and reach out to get the highly sought after console.

However, on December 3rd, 2020, almost one year ago to this day, a fan sent Arin a PS5.

Either he returned that PS5, he really desperately needs two PS5s, or he scalping. Either way, the fact that Sony ghosted him twice, when they sent other Youtubers free PS5s without them even asking, is nothing short of beautiful. Truly, nobody, outside of autistic storytime animators simply letting Arin leech fame off them, wants anything to do with the great Game Grumps Entertainment Co.

My best guess is it's an ego thing. He wants to prove he CAN get Sony to send him a free PS5 like all the other gaming youtubers. Because he's Arin Hanson and he DESERVES Sony's acknowledgement.

If I had to guess, I'd say Arin sees that one as his private PS5 (since it was a gift to him) and doesn't want to bring it to the office for recording sessions, so now someone else from the team has to beg on twitter so they can get another PS5 for the GG office.

He is probably just trying to use the magic blue check mark next to his name to try and get free shit from Sony, that way he can stroke his ego and say “hey everybody look at me! I’m tight with Sony, they sent me a free PS5!”
