They never actually ask him anything and its a lot of dick sucking because they all grew up on Newgrounds. Arin says some stuff about how the people who hate him have their own forum or something, I assume hes talking about here. He pretty much said that Florida was awful and the reason he was 'edgy' is because he grew up there and implied that the people in Florida have 'wrong' opinions, and that after moving to LA he realized 'other people's experiences', basically the copy paste response of people that get LA rot. No mention of Jontron at all, but lots of talk about 'validation'.

He also did a lot of Ego boosting about being a game dev or something, and how he is so much smarter than other people and that normal people wouldn't understand game dev talk, and now he wants to make a show where he explains game dev stuff to 'normal people'.

Whats interesting is I never noticed the Cold Ones guys try to disown their old content or anything when they were talking about old stuff. He went on the podcast because he was touring and was in Australia, the Cold Ones guys talked about going to his show.

Edit: He also said he only did animation because he got paid for it

How about that, the guy that can't play games to save his life, can't pay attention long enough to notice good game design, and whose best idea for a game was dating gay dads is going to explain how everything works to us stupid normal plebs.

I can't wait.

He's referencing the subreddit /r/rantgrumps which is a super pathetic place dedicated to former fans who never got over the fact GG peaked in quality a half decade ago and spend their free time whining about it. Instead of just not watching the show anymore like most people here did they hate watch it and complain.

He had a quite popular video series about that about 10 years ago as well, didn't he? Sequilitis. I wonder if he's just talking about reviving that series. I remember it was so well respected at some point that people were saying how some of the videos were being played at their college campuses and stuff. Of course, all of that stopped when the Majora's Mask playthrough dropped, one of the games he made a video on, and everyone saw how much he sucked. Very bold of him to act like he can carry that credibility anymore.

Now that takes me back. I can't believe that subreddit is still going, though I always liked /r/ConspiracyGrumps better, where the brightest minds would gather together and discuss how Jon beat the shit out of Suzy and that's why he left GameGrumps.

Yeah they mainly want to bury the old old content they did with icuckzz and filthy frank mainly because Joji wants to move away from that for his career and they don't want to bring him unwanted attention, although if they start talking about moving on from their old cold ones episodes then that's gonna be the start of their ruination

No I thought of that while I was typing up my post. The main difference here is people are much less parasocial imo. Like on the /r/rantgrumps sub they talk about Arin and Danny as if they used to be friends who betrayed them by not being funny anymore. I don't know it feels different to me

Yes Sequilities, the one where he explained very basic design concepts that other developers had already figured out decades ago, but he did it while screaming and drawing funny faces, so that means he's a game design genius. It was Ocarina that pissed everyone off so much that he stopped making them. He's too lazy to do animation anymore (unless someone else is doing it), so it will probably just be him "discussing" things in an echo chamber.

It's just laziness but he can't say that so he gave an answer that made him sound like a cheapass grifter.

The thing is that he used to have passion and just did stuff back in the old Newgrounds days for the hell of it. The fuck is he on about?
 
He probably resents all those old animations. He wants to be known for whatever crap he's doing now, but most people still associate him with stuff like the awesome series. I'm assuming that cartoon pitch he put out a while ago to compete with Smiling Friends didn't get picked up, so you know he's salty as hell about that.
 
I realize this is old and mentioned a while back, but I actually saw some of Lex’s bf(ethanisonline/peethanisonline) and actually was searching to see if you had a thread, because my god, the levels of smug this man reaches while being completely stupid/wrong is incredibly impressive. Dude literally said you if don’t like modern art, you must not know any gay people and modern art of a couple of canvas painted white is really impressive and better than classic art because it’s “big”.

The guy hurts my brain when he talks.

He's more so talking about how he wants to make content like the time he invited Grant Kirkhope on GG revealing his involvement in games development, which facinated him (Arin), and because he's been involved "in the process" of making games too, he wants to make something akin to what Sakurai's doing, but with his brand of """comedy""".
(24:25 of that vid. is when the topic starts with 25:00 discussing what he wants to do.)

The thing he doesn't seem to realize is he's never had any other credentials beyond being the Artist, Animator and/or Voice Actor for past projects he was involved in, while his only major role is Producer for GG games. I wonder just how much involvement he has as a Producer anyway, because the way I see it is Modern Arin is lazy and doesn't create, only funnels money into projects for others to do the brunt of the work. I don't know why he's on such a high horse thinking he knows what he's talking about when all that can really be attributed to him is being a mouthpiece for the more tanlented and hard working devs on the team.

Funny thing about this game in particular. (9:10)
Arin was the artist, animator and VA for the game back in 2010. He decided to take a backseat and just be the VA due to burn out working on the game and wanted to get back into animating his own stuff, but ultimately left the project in the end. He says he "Doesn't agree with things in it anymore nowadays" and some of it he "didn't agree with back then, either". (Which is bullshit, considering this is Pre-Game Grumps era Arin who helped work on it).

While acting out one cutscene where the protag says he's looking for 'fried chicken' and Arin cuts in and says, "Yeah -- it's stupid", sounding annoyed.

From what I remember of how he described it while livestreaming years ago:
You play as a Black guy named Jermain and the mission is to literally look for fried chicken. (Knowing Modern Arin, you can put the pieces together.)

Producer can be a really vague term too, it could mean as little as they just bankrolled part of the project. Arin acts like he solo developed multiple games with critical acclaim for their gameplay elements. Truth is he probably loosely managed the scope of a game and maybe came up with the concepts. Those games did lukewarm at best.

So in other words Arin is a professional "Idea Guy" and budget provider for games and nothing else. A true titan of the gaming industry. Even current day game industry hacks made good stuff at one point, Arin can't even say that.
 
It is Arin's mouth that gets him in trouble and his ADD brain. He doesn't think before he speaks and can't focus to save his live.

Have any of you seen the ToTK playthrough? OMG it is so frustrating. Thankfully I know better than to watch GG for good gameplay.
