Yep, that’s what I figured.

Either lean into the kids’ show angle and go full-blown clean and sterile or have floppy black cock and semen edits: you can’t have both, especially if they could get you demonetized.

All of the new weird editing stuff is because they got a new editor who used to be...a rapper iirc? The situation about SuperMega leaving seemed pretty cut and dry, but in a recent Grumps episode Arin makes a comment about "asking the boys if they should leave and focus more on their own channel". He seemed to word it in a really neutral way, but it also rubbed me the wrong way.

SuperMega are actually wonderful editors imo, with a lot of their humopr on the channel being attributed to that. It seems like this new editor does really go over the top [a whole musical montage about monkey ass in the TP playthrough? Really?], and it's more than a bit jarring. I agree, either stick to the formula of neutering what you want your editors to do so you have consistency, or pick if you're trying to keep the "no swears in the first minute, child friendly" or go all out with adult content.
 
Whoaaaaaaa Nelly, I was way out of the loop on this guy, I only knew him for Metal Gear Awesome and a few Sequelitis episodes I watched 8 years ago, I guess I knew he was part of Game Grumps but I've never really watched that, I had no idea he was such a shithead.

So, where to begin with this: firstly, Allie ended up creating a PowerPoint for the stream for the entertainment of the audience. Now one might think this is where Allie would've done something stupid and completely derailed the stream as is tradition these days for the streams. BUT...in a surprising turn of events, Allie's PowerPoint presentation wasn't all that bad.

Arin, on the other hand, got a bit pissed at Allie's presentation due to the fact that, I shit you not, this was Arin's actual reasoning: "having a character in the PowerPoint with a 'female-presenting nipple' is not okay".

"Okay, big deal: we all know Arin's an SJW faggot, what else is new?"

Well my fellow Kiwis, this is when Arin decides now is a perfect time to announce to his audience that swearing is completely forbidden on streams now (as well as in videos as was previously mentioned) to "beat the algorithm" and "because [they] don't really need swears to be funny". Which is ironic considering literally everything that's been catalogued on these last few pages, and that much later in the stream, Arin starts getting agitated that their fans suddenly aren't donating as much as they usually are after he said that.

Yes, he's actually getting verbally upset on stream over the fact that there aren't more exceptional fans dropping $500-$1000 donations per minute. All while completely ignoring everyone asking and pleading that they just open up a Patreon already.

Aside from the bad guiding from Allie and generally awful Undertale gameplay (seriously, how do you fuck Undertale? It’s Undertale), they later revealed that they had no actual source for this change needing to happen aside from that one video MatPat just put out. The same one that most everyone watched and dismissed as clickbait with little to no actual evidence to back up what he was saying whatsoever.

They’re basing their entire strategy on that video because their broke asses can’t swallow their pride and just upon a Patreon for consistent revenue.

Why, yes - yes it is fair. However, it's also fair for an employer to stop paying their employee (i.e. - fire them) when said employees starts slacking off on the job or are downright disrespectful to the person who signs their paychecks.

SupremeGay has one tier and it's mostly inconsequential shit that takes little to no extra effort on their part.

Like, honestly, given how rabid and pathetically attached their fanbase is, I can fucking GUARANTEE that if they made a tier that was as much as $10 and said "Thanks for the Lovely Support" they'd shoot up to 10,000 patrons in less than a week.

ETA: Gay Grumps is such a great example of why you don't continually hire administrative positions when you only have one real productive revenue stream. They need to cut interns, they need to cut the "game developer" wing unless they can actually produce, and they need to chuck Allie unless she starts actually doing her job (though considering how Arin treated her for actually doing an aspect of her job during the Undertale stream, I can understand why she's not productive more often). If you're a production company and you're not actually making anything, your revenue is going to dry up and you get into this situation, especially if you're hiring friends because you won't ever cut their useless positions.

Arin's getting desperate, and that comment from Ross is super indicative that things aren't going well for them right now, the first thing he needs to do is remove everyone that isn't involved in the creation of their videos on their YouTube channel (even Ross), hire a CFO so this shit doesn't happen again, set up a Patreon for a resource avenue with much less flux than Ad Sense that allows them to make the content they want to make, and then think about growth from there.

And all this "moving office" talk, I'm wondering if they're finding a place that is cheaper, but with cheaper it usually means smaller and more restrictive in coding and things the landlord with allow you to actually do to the space, and this is probably what's happening. Honestly, at this point they should just talk to Jirard and see if they can get a space in the TOVG office, especially if they only record once a week.
