It's astounding to me that they just begin turning things around with their audience by "always listening to them" and having a marginally decent run between Phoenix Wright and Undertale, and now they waste it with this censoring shit. Why not actually exercise some of that listening and not take for granted your able and willing audience who wants to help you not continue to sacrifice whatever is left of this shambling skeleton crew called Game Grumps.

How is Arin so impossibly stubborn to his audience, refusing to make beneficiary changes and actively encourages worser ones just to fuck with them, but bends to the every whim of some group or organization that threatens his baby-fragile image and wallet if he makes "racist accents" or swears too much?

Simple: ego.

Actually I lied a bit, that's only partially the case.

The other part is him getting completely wasted during and after the livestreams.

Or as Arin puts it: "feeling really hydrated" during and after the streams.

It's all sorts of screwed up that he'll go out of his way to censor all their videos from now on in order to appease Youtube's supposed prejudice against offensive language in a weak attempt at avoiding getting demonitized; but doesn't seem to think Youtube may have an issue with him getting sh*tfaced on livestream.

Lemme be clear, when I say shitfaced, I mean he got SHITFACED drunk, to the point that Dan had to offer to give him a lift home at the end of the stream, even after Arin protested he was fine because he had "anti-hydration material" (or coffee, to sober people). The dude downed quite a bit of vodka that night.

That's the other things that's both annoying and confusing - why is he pretending? (i.e. - calling getting drunk on vodka 'hydrating', and referring to coffee as 'anti-hydration material'). Is he aware that drinking on Livestream may not bode well with Youtube and thinks these idiotic terms will fly right over their heads?

I'm also really appauled by the fact that none of his friends seem to have a problem with a guy who claims to have mental illness getting hammered - on livestream or anywhere else (apparently, Arin has also been smoking pot and Dan offered to be there with him the next time he got high to make sure Arin had a good trip, or something like that). I get that Arin signs their checks; but - from an outsiders perspective - Arin seems to be self destructing, and none of his supposed friends seem to be intervening.

Wait, what? I'm probably super late at this but didn't Arin at some point claim to never drink/smoke/do "drugs". Granted, I think I remember this being a thing years ago so things might have changed...

Anyway, a more general observation: the Grumps always wanted to have their cake and eat it. It's always been "we're just some guys hanging out playing video games!!!" while also being "a serious business, hiring business people to do business" depending on whatever the issue was that day.

That's a lot of chaff and very little wheat

Way too many people working for dream daddy tbh.

And Dream Daddy seems to have dwindled considerably in popularity - given that no one showed up to their event at Barnes and Nobles a few weeks back (like, literally no one).

Still doesn't stop Arin from having the game ported to the Switch/Mobile, though - or clear out the unsold stock of Grumps merch from their online shop to focus on selling Dream Daddy merch (I assume the Grumps merch was pulled because they'll be selling their overstock at their garage sale this weekend; still a really odd move, though).

There was a Barnes and Nobles’ Dream Daddy event and no one showed up? Plz share more info, it sounds hilarious.

This was confirmed by Leighton (one half to the Dream Daddy creative team) on her Instagram.

On a separate note -apparently, the garage sale the Grumps scheduled for this weekend did so well that they cancelled the second day.

But that's okay - they promised to make up for it at a later date.

To give an idea just how bad the whole thing was, a user on r/rantgrumps shared some details.

Isn't it interesting that their business' money and their content went to absolute shit the minute Arin started getting drunk like a high schooler?

Arin should've gotten the 'evil' out when he was younger. all that repressed shit he's dealing with is gonna seep through the cracks. calling it, beginning of the end right now if Arin is getting shitfaced on streams in front of his young/autistic fanbase.

Prices and merch ranges were exactly the same as they were online/in everyone's various online stores, and aside from some various rare memorabilia (Arin's sonic dress; costumes from Ninja Sex Party videos), what was on display was generally described as 'junk'. They also sold games fans gave them. One fan actually saw that a game they gave them was on sale, and that they hadn't bothered to remove the personal note the person had left inside before selling it.

People on Twitter above, in the Subreddit post about this, on Facebook and on Instagram are pissed, either because of how bad the experience was, because they were in the line after it was capped, or because they were planning on coming Sunday.

The line to come inside was capped by the police at 2PM.

What a fucking shitshow.

I never thought, even on my time in Kiwi Farms, I'd see a fanbase be at risk of baking to death in the hot Californian sun, but...here we are.

EDIT: ARIN IS SELLING OFF MONTY OUM'S GIFTS THAT HE GOT YEARS AGO! HOLY SHIT THAT'S LOW.

Look, I get it: you don't keep everything your friends gift you, but selling off something a dead friend gave to you to random fans on the Internet because you're that strapped for cash is just...ouch...

I know Dan, in particular, must hate this. It's going to stifle conversation and always draw attention to their inability to properly do so--all so they can get sweet Youtube Kids app bucks.
