I'm surprised it took them this long to go down the road of abandoning the Game part, but I'm not 100% sure that it's the greatest idea, speaking purely from a business standpoint.
Granted, I haven't seen much of their non-let's play content before this, but I feel like it's a tad alienating to their audience.
Then again, blah blah blah personality cult, bootlicking, etc., so maybe I'm just being optimistic.

TL;DW: Writing's on the wall that Game Grumps might be getting phased out entirely soon (continuing of Arin/Jack's convo where he states they may only start recording a video a month with Dan at some point in the near future, rather than bulk record several episodes a week), in favor of "The Grumps" because "muh algorithm", with Arin constantly alluding towards him taking a similar transition from Newgrounds animator to Let's Player, by moving from Let's Player to GMM-rip-off.

Reminds me of that scene from The Wire when Stringer inquires to his macroeconomics professor about selling an inferior product in an aggressive marketplace. Mr. Lucas answers that if you have a large share of the market, then you buy up the competition. Stringer asks: and if you don't? Then Lucas tells him to reduce the price to increase market share. Stringer says that assumes low overheard, and Lucas says obviously, otherwise you operate at a loss, and worse: as your prices drop, your product loses consumer credibility.

Then Mr. Lucas recounts how the CEO of WorldCom was faced with that dilemma, because the business was linked to large fraud cases, so to resolve the issue, he changed the name of the company.

And that''s the problem - they work for him. What choice do they have but to defend him? (and by the looks of it; they don't even know what the whole fiasco was about - they just assume Arin was attacked and needs defending).

It also seriously rubs me the wrong way how TWRP (and Dan, for that matter) must gush over how they couldn't have made it without Arin's help. Do they not realize they have talent of their own and all Arin did was - what? - give them money or a platform to gain views from?

watched the bitch fit arin had over pelos animation go down, and honestly i cant say im surprised. seems just this guys speed to attack an animator smaller than him because of humor he finds questionable or offensive.
was pretty funny to witness, honestly. the fact that the man went out of his way to complain about something that most (if not all) of the individuals covered in the video were fine with. juuuust to squeeze in that little ounce of superiority with the whole "i was made fun of as a kid its so demoralizing :(" schtick.

i honestly doubt it. i was lurking in pelos twitter threads about him needing fanart a while back and some of the stas he "made fun of" were playing along and liking some of the pictures people drew of their personas.
 
Fuck he's really almost 40 cringing about the stupid shit he did like 16 years ago. I can understand it when your like 24 and cringing at your rebellion phase as a teenager. But Arin is a grown man crying cause his feefees are hurt and he's afraid about losing his teen fan base in their rebellion phase.

Arin is only 32/33- not sure if that makes things better or worse.

If Arin really wants to go on a crusade for these storytime animators, he could go after the autistic teens drawing porn of their characters. Jaiden's alone has over 1000+ results on Rule36. And as I'm sure you can guess, the uploads are indeed masterpieces.

All jokes aside, I'm a bit disappointed in how Sr Pelo offered to explain the jokes to Arin. Arin can't just appreciate the gold that was in there, and instead has to it denounce the whole thing as a form of cruel bullying. Never mind all the time and effort Pelo put into animating this shit.
