Both DingDong and Julian have touched upon it, albeit briefly, in their posts about why they left OneyPlays and about their impact on social media on both themselves and the content they watch.

For the specific bit about being outed to their families, it's directly stated here in regards to Dream Daddy - any additional comments left by DingDong on both r/RantGrumps and that r/OneyPlays thread seem to reaffirm this. I should stress that the problem isn't with Arin per se as he was more complacent to the whole thing, but more so with Vernon (the creative director of Grumps, and lead on Dream Daddy), and by extension that branch has started infecting Game Grumps like a tumor, so take that for what you will
The bit about old friends turning their backs on him is gone into more detail on the r/RantGrumps thread, but that's already been posted and discussed about here elsewhere, just go lookback a few pages if you're curious.
Julian specifically also talked about his disdain towards Game Grumps' content and how Egoraptor becoming a self-inflated cartoony sterilized image of himself with gossip looming over them constantly was a major fear he had because of seeing that as a potential path he might go down (something Julian and DingDong tried desperately to avoid) in that same Tumblr post.

And as we all know now, that didn't end up working.
Their families also aren't exactly supportive, period, to put it mildly. So personal phone numbers being contacted plus DingDong in fear over losing Julian and everything they worked for equals, well...you do the math.

Needless to say, working there (and on OneyPlays) was not the most favorable thing for them, and compound that with the fact that much of their audience being part of what the fanbase over "former Lovely crossover" as some have put it, and it ultimately doesn't paint a pretty picture of how this. Thankfully, the situation was deescalated internally and the families ended being reluctant, but ultimately okay with it in the end (although it could've ended much much worse).
Externally, however: it's still remembered by everyone involved, because as we all know: the Internet never forgets. They're still getting harassed and stalked over Dream Daddy to this day even, albeit not nearly to that extent.
Ultimately, it seemed that DD&J had moved on from the Grumps' drama for the most part, but...well, I mean, we all saw what happened this past week. The Lovelies will drag you down, regardless of association.
Because they're that fucking psychotic.
