Don't feel bad for Dan - he brought this on himself. He's well aware that Arin has a negative bias towards most Zelda games and that when they announced they would be playing Twilight Princess, the fans wanted Dan to take the reigns because he had never played the game before and it would be far more entertaining to see someone play the game with fresh eyes (and who clearly does pay attention to in game clues) than to have to put up with Arin's self induced headaches for the umpteenth time because he can't be bothered to play properly (whether intentionally for the lulz or because he really cant be bothered to pay attention to in game clues).

Instead, he stuck by his weak ass excuses for why he doesn't game (outside of vs games) anymore and now he and the fans get to listen to Arin shit all over a game that doesn't deserve it.

I'm necroing, and off topic, but they addressed it back in 2016. I think the implication back then was that they were only comfortable with him doing that while he was single/about to be single, and that he was actually flagrantly cheating on his girlfriend in some of the more recent conversations I've seen, as well as talking about fucked up shit to children.

You can kind of tell when he's doing it on purpose.
In the first Sonic stage it's very obvious he's intentionally holding the wrong direction during rail segments. He's not really angry during those moments, more just laughing and criticizing the game.
Then you look at the Knuckles or Big stages where he is just playing badly. He's very angry during those parts and really wants them to end.

Mario 64 might be a better example. He starts off with no ill will towards the game and is happy that he's doing well early on. Once the difficulty increases and he starts dying more often, then his whole attitude shifts.

For a long time, game grumps was friendly with a ton of different groups, and no one had a bad word to say about Arin. Even when the quality of the show started to divebomb, there was no one outside the fanbase who ever brought it up. It felt like you were being gaslighted when you noticed the decline. It's only very recently that more people are speaking up about game grumps and Arin in particular being shit. They're still keeping up the classic silence, though, and treating these recent call outs like they did the JonTron departure. I imagine we might find something out in a couple years from a disgruntled former employee. Probably in the same vein as the Chanel Awesome bullshit a few years ago.

Ok no this has been proven flase a few times that it wasn't some epic fight that Arin started that made Jon leave.

There is a livestream that Zack did back in 2016 even making fun of this theory and he even states with jon in that livestream that that isn't true at all to why jon left.


Jon has given the reason of being he was dating a girl at the time and they moved to new york to be together, and he wanted to make more videos and not be spending all his time making game grump videos but his own content.

He got sick of making let's plays that Arin really wanted him to do and you can hear him even mention this at the end of this video him getting pretty sick of playing games and nothing else.


But even Arin while talking to Phil in a clip that was supposed to be edited out was basically jon left and they didn't talk due to it not because they were angry at each other but because it was awkward but they got over it and we're cool which is why you saw Arin in Jon's series at the end.


Like this thread has shown how much of a jackass Arin can be at times but Jon left because Arin saw this was basically a cashcow and wanted to keep milking it, but Jon didn't want to spend all of his time just doing the same thing over and over instead of making content so he left.

There no future disgruntle employee that will ever show up because that shit didn't happen; it literally was jon and arin became distant due to they went on different paths because Arin wanted to keep milking the cow and Jon wanted to make stuff instead of play it.
 
I know I could be late on this. Like super fucking late. But did you guys ever discuss how Arin threw a tardfit over SrPelo making a harmless parody of story time youtubers?

I think what added some fuel to the "theories" was Jon saying he left to work on JonTron content, and then didn't make anything for ages. He was also living with Barry at the time and kinda screwed him over by moving to NY. Hilariously Jon isn't even dating the girl (Nicole/@Shnikkles) anymore, hasn't been for some time.

So y'all remember Zelda Dungeon? The walkthrough site that Arin and Dan used for Majora and Skyward, despite the fact that it's not made for the Game Grumps at all, and in fact are currently switching into it between that a fan one in Twilight Princess? Well, in today's episode, he decides it'd be funny to joke about cancelling Zelda Dungeon to his fanbase, a la Leadfoot/Heavy Iron Studios.

On top of him playing horrendously bad this episode, they blame the walkthrough for several specific things, like it being too non-linear, it not making sense to read, being just as bad as the fanmade walkthrough they've been using which they somehow lost, and not detailing their own route in the game (i.e. the walkthroughs are made for people who actually play the game like a sane person).

Luckily it seems like the fanbase is more focused on other things, like not being "as poisonous as RantGrumps" and how Arin needs to get a shield and stop using Sequelitis standards on the series, etc., etc., insert points from other TIHYDPs here, but I'd say keep an eye on the ZD Forums over the next few days.

How do you play video games for a living and still need a guide/walkthrough to finish a 13 year old game? Unless they’re trying to 100% the run, there is no reason they need a guide, Zelda games are all very straightforward

I am so tired of this shit, I buy games to play games, I don’t want to hear youtubers giving their shitty acting when I play them. Especially a game like river city girls, which shouldn’t have any voices at all.
Does anyone actually think Aaron is a good VA? Like, honestly, I’ve always hated his voice. I get why Magisword, Bee and Puppy Cat, and Cyanide and Happiness used him, they’re internet shows trying to cash in on other internet popularity, but reputable games should avoid him and other youtubers like the plague
 
If they wanted to get Youtubers to do voice work, they should've gotten Oney and Tomar instead, smh
