idk, I don't think Dan has enough milk to be worth his own thread but I guess the Arin Hanson thread could be a GameGrumps one. I know Suzy has her own thread (and did so before Arin) but even that drama dried up a while ago because she basically stopped making videos. Most of the Grumps related people are just minor cows in my opinion with tiny, little scandals that last for a few days.

I actually really like the windwaker playthroughs of both parties because it showcases the distinctions between their ways of doing things.

I tend to agree - as a group, they are competent enough to keep their smokescreen up, that's always been Arin's area of excellence. The "grumps" company seems to be a festering rotpile of abusive and codependent personalities that fires on all cylinders to keep their drama under lock and key. The recent decline seems to be largely summed up through the metaphor of a leaking septic tank, they get lazy or someone above their shit gets pissed enough to briefly lower themselves and open their mouth, and the valve loosens for us.

None of them seem to be out of control as much as some of the other cows on the board (Yet) with the exception of Holly, of course. It's just a bunch of garbage people encouraging each other to be garbage. I think the only happenings at this point that could cause an entertaining show is an internal sexual assault accusation made public, Arin coming out as a tr00n, or criminal accusations leveled at one of them. Besides those possibilities, Grumps seems mostly milked out. Dan was the last thing about the grumps that "people liked" and now that he's been publicly revealed as a gross skeeze I think the channel can be called officially defunct. Everyone else who has distanced themselves from it is doing much better: Jon, Ross, Markiplier. It's pretty impressive how long so many people can ride on such a relatively small amount of innovation and hard work - in this case, a youtube empire was built on one sperg's burgeoning talent in early internet animation, and his ability to network. But that's why we have capitalism kids - shitty products, and lazy shits don't last.

I mean, you could say the same thing with Arin and Game Grumps in that most drama involving them also usually last a few days and dries up fast (barring massive changes to the channel/really stupid shit in videos). The major difference is the frequency at which things happen; the drama surrounding Grumps is usually small peanuts, but it happens so much and the fanbase overreacts to it so badly and so loudly that when stacked together, it accumalates to become a large and glorious pile of shit.

That said, I still agree that it should be contained in one thread unless things get REALLY bad with certain members of the Grumps, and even then it might be better to just rename/repurpose this thread into a Game Grumps Griefing Thread if it does eventually get that bad.

While all of that (what's now been dubbed as "#NotSoGrumpGate" by Lovelies and RantGrumps owner, TheValkuma) was happening, Arin apparently acted like an even bigger shitheel during Pheonix Wright's ending than was previously noted.

(Somewhat related sidenote: yes you're not seeing thing wrong, the thumbnail style has been changed yet again, only this time going back to the more 2012, sidebar-esque one that they tried and everybody absolutely hated.)

He took the time to thank "every single one of his fans who watched until the end...all five of [them]", and proceeded to bitch about the algorithm some more and shit on the characters and anyone who ever dared like the series, with people defending it saying "Well they'd shit on games and audience viewership all the time you guys are pathetic".

Blah blah blah the Lovelies are shit-spewing mongs, and in other news, the sky is blue and water is, in fact, wet. Though I'll admit: there definitely weren't as many people defending Arin this time around as there usually are.

You guys made one of the most near universally-loved series on the channel and not only did it putter out by the end, but you just had to add in more algorithm bullshit to spew down people's throats and and one last little "fuck you" to whoever stayed and watched it until the very end, or to whomever jumped in at this time.

If Dan's hair is anywhere near as gross as people allude to, and a person had to sit within smelling distance of it, pretty sure most folks would have to force a smile.

I think Arin would just go the Jon route again if Dan left and never mention him again. If nothing else, he'd be shooting himself in the foot since he'd also be acknowledging that he's heard all the drama and let it go on for X amount of time, only coming forward after Dan was leaving. Maybe if it was the audience turning on Dan and forcing him out, I could see Arin having a reaction, but Dan leaving on his own would most likely just generate radio silence.

No exaggeration: this is, bar none, the stupidest decision they've ever made when it comes to trying to get more viewership, and it's all apparently thanks to Arin listening solely to Allie. In what universe would they think that them sitting and making less content (on top of splitting said content in-between two channels) and making one long stretch of videos would alleviate their view worries, and how does Arin think being publicly annoyed by it is gonna fix it?

Let's just compare the two schedules changes/video format: let's just say that one 40 minute episode counts for about two or three episodes, previous-format-wise. Even on a bad day, if they only got about 150,000 views on the two or three videos they put out, altogether that's still a total of 450,000 views across the board. With one long episode, not only will their watch time fall off the map because people's watch time will degrade after the first 5 minutes (since they'd be used to the old format after 7 years of exposure to it), but if they only get 150,000 views on that one video? Well that's it, that's all they get for those two days, until they upload the next 40 minute video because remember: they're only releasing 4 40 minute videos a week now for Game Grumps. Everything else is on the Grumps' "The Grumps" channel.

But everything's apparently fine and dandy because Allie says so; who even the fuck is Allie anyways? She's not even capable at the one job she was hired for, why is she now in a position to make entire swathes of decisions for the channel over and over again? Wasn't that Brent's/Vernon's job? Fuck's sake, why is it that every side-ho Arin gets, they always, without fail, kick in their heels and drive the channel into deeper and deeper irrelevance while Arin acts like that dog in that one fuckin' comic where the room's on fire? Even when everyone around him, even his diehard fans and his friends (past and present), are telling him to stop before things get REALLY bad, he just thinks he and Allie are still right.

Fair point, but so was Suzy, but at least she never got this much attention on the show and controlled this much; at best, she was their "secretary" or some shit. Her drama for the most part was always stuff that happened outside of the show, or was at least somewhat contained. Now I'm just sitting here wondering what exactly happened between then and now where his new Yoko Ono employee is both front-and-center (despite everyone saying how much they hate her and despite Grumps still somehow being terrible at ACTUAL communication), and somehow is able to simultaneously be a social media manager, a producer, a director, a person who picks out their games, an honorary third Grump, a director, and a writer on all of their current projects, and fail and all of this in less than three months.

I know why it's happening, doesn't make these decisions any less confusing. Like Arin's only listening and following her advice out of spite.
