Rumors have been floating around that the book isn't actually being written by any person, but rather was auto-generated by an AI, with one of the biggest pieces of evidence to that fact being that the book's description on Amazon both looks and sounds like something one of the talk-to-transform programs would spit out.
In theory, the joke about this book being made by a person who doesn't exist (which would have some truth to it given it was technically made by a person, but said person writing the book doesn't exist) and it being a fictionalized character who's stuck in their old ways so badly that they write a shit book that sounds like it was made by a decrepit old man going completely crazy could work.
In theory. And with the exception being that the book be made incredibly cheap lest your audience feel like they just wasted all their money.
But because it's Arin, and he's in no way smart enough or talented enough to pull something like that off with no problems, not only did he decide to charge $21 for this meme book, but he also - for whatever reason - didn't disclose that this was him, added an abuse angle for sympathy points and to get people to buy it out of pity, and banking on his fanbase retroactively defending everything as a joke once it started becoming clear that this whole thing was a ruse. Which to his credit, people absolutely did, with the bonus caveat of the Lovelies insulting people who were genuinely fooled and acting like it was obvious all along and that if you bought the book, you were a dumbass for not understanding Arin's comedic genius and writing off any issues with the book as "just being part of the ARG".
We'll have to wait until the book leaks online to see if that rumor holds water, but given what we know about the book already, and how things went with Dendy, chances are high that they absolutely just suckered their fanbase into buying a book written by a robot where the plot is that there is no plot; a literal nothingburger book.
