As a man of color I can never comprehend these kinds of insults towards that movie. When you agree with MOVIEBOB on a take, you know you fucked up big time. Also Joker quite literally says that Arthur is a bad person for killing and going down his decent, though as an audience member you began to understand why, and wish to help Arthur keep his quickly fleeting sanity.

I have not watched gamegrumps in like 4 or 5 years because it got boring and arin is a raging,unfunny manchild, but what is going on with their thumbnails and titles? All the videos have shitty clickbait thumbnails and undescriptive titles,also what is up with having Arin grump face wear glasses? He doesnt wear glasses in real life,is that suppoused to be a joke?

I don't think the thumbnails are a terrible idea. When you have a series that has been going on for over 70 videos (Mostly because they insisted on that 15 minute format for way too fucking long), I think it's refreshing to have some different thumbnails. It's helpful when you want to find one specific part of the game, since the titles themselves never helped much. It's just that the execution is awful, and the thumbnails they end up using vary from being dogshit to pure nightmare fuel.

The new titles, on the other hand....

I kinda love how often the actual name of the game is cut out by those titles, and that's when they don't leave it out entirely.

Didn't he dislike one of the Dark Knight movies for slightly less r.etarded reasons too? (iirc he said it on a Super Mario Galaxy episode). It's like he's unable to form an opinion unless it's stupidly contrarian in some way or another. Even if the movie's overhyped because journos thought it was "problematic" and gave free publicity to another comic-based movie, it's not hard to just admit you didn't like it. Man hasn't even watched LOTR because he thinks it wouldn't interest him/looks boring. Don't expect the guy that can't even read a tutorial for 5 seconds without flipping his shit to enjoy movies that divert a little from the norm ("Why is the Joker evil?? I don't understand!! How am I supposed to relate to this character?" *ignores that the whole movie was literally about explaining why he turned evil*). Actually he probably doesn't enjoy movies in general, considering it's a medium that's as story-heavy as it can be.

I'd like to point out that ralphthemoviemaker got completely lambasted just for disliking Joker. He didn't give any reason to at first, people just immediately jumped to attack mode. He did eventually review that film and it was full of shitty criticisms, but criticisms nonetheless, and people still hated it. Arin just completely misread the film, making his criticisms completely invalid, and yet I have yet to find any knock-back towards him. I'm not saying people deserve hate for disliking Joker, both Arin and Ralph are entitiled to their own opinions, but the fact that Ralph got hate simply for disliking the film and yet lovelies aren't even bothered by Arin not only disliking the film but for a completely stupid reason as well, really speaks volumes for how much boot-licking there is in the fandom.

I've noticed that a lot of SJWs criticizing Joker act like the main character of every movie is always intended to be the hero of the story.

IDK if they already made their minds up before seeing the movie and are trying to justify their anger, or are just that ignorant of basic cinematic concepts, but it's a really tarded take, especially since a lot of them, including Arin, work in the entertainment industry.

I feel like even “le SJWs” agreed that the Joker/Arthur was not a heroic protagonist at all. You have to be dense to think he’s someone you should look up to. I’d say more the people who idolize Filthy Frank or Rick Sanchez would fall into that category.

It's very easy content to make and for a Youtuber you either get to...

A) Get a free vacation from your company, the resort, a sponsor, whoever.
or
B) Get a deeply discounted vacation as you can write everything about it off as a business expense.

Imagine being a fucking Game Grump - sitting in a studio for 1 or 2 "full" days a week recording yourself badly playing video games - and then handing them off to an editor to clean up and unironically thinking "what if this was even easier".

I think I have an idea why they made such a drastic change towards the Thumbnails. If you check the Grumps Social blade at this time they were at an all time low in subs AND views; The dip started around August, yet they're slowly digging themselves out of the hole they evidently put themselves into (they had like three controversy back to back, as well as outside influences like TIHYDP being better than the original series). But keep this in mind next time GameGrumps decide to alter another longstanding trend, it may be an attempt to increase views or subs. Something tells me SJG was an extra stab at a seemingly easy jackpot, however Arin's (and the GG crews') incompetence at promoting this game mostly caused ire and ambivalence amongst the lovelies.

Funny thing is, their clickbait hasn't even made that big of a difference. If anything it's damaged their channel because enough of their fans hate the thumbnails or just miss the uploads altogether since they blend into their sub feed so much. Plus, even for clickbait it's pretty damn bad so it's not gonna attract newer viewers

A pretty shallow theory I have, but I might as well share.
January is the month with the lowest earnings in adsense, with Nov/Dec being pretty big when it comes to making money from advertisements. AFAIK GameGrumps only makes their cash from ads, so they might just be taking this time in Jan/Feb to just take a break because it's not like they'll make as much money doing the same amount of effort. It's why there are usually lackluster videos in these two months, they either burned themselves out from pushing videos in Nov/Dec or just don't see the effort in Jan/Feb to be worth it.

So, looks like I got the info wrong (in regards to the character designs, anyway). Allie designed the logo, and apparently is the one to blame for folks getting common duplicates (seeing as she hand sorted each package).
