Has anyone else noticed that Arin barely makes it beyond the "additional voices" credit in everything he's in? The one exception to that is Mighty Magiswords. Everything else he's been in he's played a side-character or some random extra/background character. Usually this is because some indie game devs have looked no further than Youtube for voice actors, hence Monster Prom's cast; or hired Arin to do some voices alongside other Youtubers, simply for the novelty of having Youtubers being voice actors, like River City Girls did. His status as a voice actor is next to nil, especially compared to most LA-bound VAs. If you compare that to people like Josh Tomar and Mick Lauer (also in those credits) who have made a far better name for themselves as voice actors, tho mainly appearing in video games and anime of course. Mick has especially done better than Arin, Zach could potentially have a TV series greenlit, giving these guys even more of a spotlight. Kira Buckland, who has worked with Arin and has the same roots as him, has made an even bigger name for herself, starring in one the highest selling games of 2017, Nier: Automata. Hell, even Hazbin Hotel featured basically every voice talent from the web besides Arin, and that wasn't even made by professionalsSo somehow...somehow, Arin made it into the additional voice credits of the Final Fantasy VII Remake.

I can answer that, because Arin's actually talked about this in an episode: he is insufferable.I don't know what Arin's like in the recording studio but given his hatred of instructions I wouldn't be surprised if he's a pain in the ass to direct.
How the actual fuck is a zombie supposed to have character? It’s a mindless walking corpse that only wants to eat motherfuckers and make weird groany noises. It’s not like a vampire where the main draw is they’re a normal human that’s infected with some fucked up disease that makes them an immortal blood-sucking demon, it’s not a complex role at all. How self-absorbed do you have to be that you demand that the generic zombie you’re voicing go on existential rants or some shit instead of just moaning?I can answer that, because Arin's actually talked about this in an episode: he is insufferable.
Lemme give you just a taste of Arin's VA 'tism: when he was supposed to just make zombie noises for...either a video game or a TV show, one of the two - which, reminder, is the most piss-easy VA job in the world because all you're doing is moaning and screeching into a microphone - he decided to argue with the director about his direction and motivation, saying that the zombie didn't have enough character, wherein he then tried to improvise and create his own lines on the spot, no matter what the director told him, and despite the rest of the cast's wishes.
I remember this from the TIHYDP cut of Twilight Princess. He didn't do a bad job with the voice he gave in the video, but the dipshit was doing a more demonic voice than a zombie. It was proof that his inability to follow instructions stems outside of video games too for any new viewers at the time.I can answer that, because Arin's actually talked about this in an episode: he is insufferable.

He clearly misread the role as some variant of 'Zoey' and was clealry livid at being unable to live out Girl LARP fantasy. How the actual fuck is a zombie supposed to have character? Michael: Are you saying that nobody in New York will work with me?I can answer that, because Arin's actually talked about this in an episode: he is insufferable.

Other than being insufferable, Arin isn't exactly dedicated to his craft. Oney and Zach have been pretty insistent they actually are working on stuff and not just playing vidya, which I had some incredulity about until Bowlbo and Smiling Friends dropped and made it clear they are getting on with some pretty major stuff. Arin has really just been playing video games these past few years with some minor projects on the side. Hell, even Dan has NinjaSexParty or whatever. Starbomb was 6 years ago which was like the last thing Arin animated that I remember. Since then it's mostly been other animators doing the videos.
Arin really is just sort of a personality with some self-taught business sense that fails him often. Oney may shill a fair bit but I can't call him lazy cause he actually does try, and also he's actually pretty funny unlike Arin who traded that in for like 5 woke points.
Okay yeah I stand corrected. Arin only wishes he could portray a character as cool as that.
Isn’t a zombie “voice” like the easiest monster noise to do? It’s just gagging and groaning.I remember this from the TIHYDP cut of Twilight Princess. Yes, it is. If they want you to say something, its usually a long groaned out version of what they expect you to sayIsn’t a zombie “voice” like the easiest monster noise to do? It’s just gagging and groaning.
She’s also Mitsuri Kanroji in Demon Slayer, which was able to beat One Piece in manga sales in Japan even against main-stays like My Hero Academia and Boruto and is the most popular anime to be released recently. She’s going to be secure on that role alone for the next five years.Kira Buckland, who has worked with Arin and has the same roots as him, has made an even bigger name for herself, starring in one the highest selling games of 2017, Nier: Automata.
