Dude... time to fucking grow up...

This guy was also a theoretical physicist and held positions in Harvard, MIT, etc. Where did his life go wrong when he joined a subpar band with the cringiest name in existence? Did being a scientist not pay enough?

What I don't get is how his wife was okay with that decision; as I'm pretty sure they had their kid before Brian opted to ditch his teaching job and move his family to LA so he and Dan could try to become musicians together - with no guarantee that they'd successfully get it off the ground.

Talk about a huge risk to take when they have a kid to support, you know? (glad it worked out, though - however, it means being indebted to the likes of Arin Hanson).

If I remember correctly, once NSP started picking up steam, he started making more money from that than being a scientist. So while I get wanting to make that the priority since he was main force behind the music while Danny did most of the lyrics and respect going after the money, I do feel giving up on that career is a long term mistake

While I agree, I will say, I have a close friend who got a job being a professor at one of the best universities in Canada. He quit after 2 years saying it was the worst job he's ever had (dispite great benefits). He said imagine being surrounded by some of the most entitled sjw brats who watch your every move for micro aggressions every day.

Would that have much of an affect on Brian. though? Pretty sure he's embraced that kind of mindset since moving to LA.

Maybe? As Ninja Brian he can at least hide behind the fact that it's a character he's playing when he does anything "problematic". He wouldn't be able to do that as a professor.

He didn't quit his science job until NSP started making real dollars, as far as I understand it.

Additionally (to consider) but doing NSP means he can work as much or as little as he wants and is probably substantially easier than working full time as a doctorate level professor. Not much point in having a kid if you never get to spend meaningful time with it - doubly so if the "side gig" is making more money. Considering he's generally regarded as "pretty smart", I imagine he took a calculated risk and will be smart with the money.

I can get behind that. It sounds like he has a good grasp on what he actually wants to do. Being a musician has a short shelf life, but I feel he could be smart with his money. Brian should make the cash while he can, invest in a low-risk financing portofolio that has long term yields, and retire in his 50's. In the event NSP does fall through, he at least has a career he can fall back on.

Which is saying lot more than a kowtowing, SJW asskissing, spergy manchild and a stoner who seems to forever be in arrested development.

Now wait a fucking minute there, buddy. Arin can fall back on his career as talented voice actor that got his roles through hard work and totally not through being YT famous and has experience as the manager of a multithousand dollar brand, and Danny can become a vocal coach or a...hair model?
Haters BTFO.

Arin really went all in on making these pictures look ambiguously creepy

All for the low low price of $80 (for the set). Even with the 'name brand' excuse, that's a stupidly high price for cotton PJs.

At least they haven't sold out, yet - that's slightly reassuring that Lovelies aren't entirely stupid enough to blow their (parents) money on something you can get on Amazon for almost half the price (which includes free shipping, to boot!)

To all of you guys talking about Brian Wecht's career outside of NSP and Starbomb (particularly in relation to music, I don't think his academia career is dust if he needs it, he'd probably just have to do some hard knocks teaching 101 classes at a university until he built up his tenure),

They're not bad, in a "for small kids TMBG style" kinda way, but if you're looking for Mr. Wecht's "I'm tired of video game penis joke music" out, here it is.

I can see why Brian dropped the research job to play pretend as a ninja in a band. Money is money for the first part, but being a researcher is a long and intensive job. Hell being Ninja Brian alone would give him more time to be with his kid, and if it ever fell through during it he could just go back to being the researcher.

Brian seems to be smart enough to hedge his bets.

I think Dan described Brian as being pragmatic about this whole music thing and saying that people should always have a backup plan.
