The only reason this is being defended is because the original accusation was that he groomed and/or had sex with minors. If you're afterwards telling me that what was done was completely legal, I'm putting my pitchfork down and I'm not going to even reconsider picking it up for you for any other reason. It's awful behaviour all around and hiding behind the defence of "well she was at least legal!" or "women need to be responsible for their actions!" ensures that fags like this wont ever have to face the consequences of their actions anymore than a woman hiding behind a hastag movement when sucking dick for fame gets her nowhere does.
No, that's the spirit of Benjamin Franklin speaking. That's the coom brain talking, son.
Ghosting someone irrespective of gender only after you've got your end away is a pretty nasty thing to do to someone.
Jesus christ, you sound like a christian mom. It's not even like he was counting down the days till she was legal, four whole years passed. He probably just saw her name in his DM history one day and decided he wanted to score. If he wants to use women, let him. I'm not about to moralfag for some twenty-something fucking her own life up.It's awful behaviour all around and hiding behind the defence of "well she was at least legal!" or "women need to be responsible for their actions!" ensures that fags like this wont ever have to face the consequences of their actions anymore than a woman hiding behind a hastag movement when sucking dick for fame gets her nowhere does.

It's almost as if victims should stop going public on social media about stuff like this, but instead go to the police if anything illegal occured. At the risk of trying to get this thread even slightly back on topic:
Going over the Newsweek piece again, seeing just how badly botched the information on any of this was - up to and including implying NotBlarg, along with TheValkuma, the victim, and the person on Twitter are all the same person - got me thinking.
For the Lovely on r/GameGrumps that did make that giant-ass post accurately covering the girl's entire timeline with Dan: in just one day. they had already found the victim, plus her personal information, had a detailed list of every single thing that she had done across her entire timeline of 4 years with Dan Avidan, her Reddit account, anyone who even vaguely interacted with the posts, the total of 2 times she spoke on RantGrumps several years ago (who I'm not even 100% sure is actually her, just the only person they could find in that one Dan post whose timeline of events vaguely matched up to her own), her real name and her friend's name, along with exact timestamps to not only when the users talked with Dan, with NotBlarg, with other Lovelies, with other fans, and pretty much every single conceivable even that had taken place from 2013-2021, but even timestamps to when they made that exact fucking post, accounting for GMT, UTC, and PST.
Either that timeline came from the Discord where they had the names of anyone who's even slightly wronged the Grumps or the Lovelies are deeply, DEEPLY obsessively autistic, to an almost disturbing degree not yet covered in this thread.
Why can't it be both?Either that timeline came from the Discord where they had the names of anyone who's even slightly wronged the Grumps or the Lovelies are deeply, DEEPLY obsessively autistic, to an almost disturbing degree not yet covered in this thread.
If they're concerned that others fans may be treated the same way as they had been and want to warn them beforehand, I think they should make their experiences public knowledge; they should just be ready for the inevitable backlash they're going to face from the fans who refuse to believe their idol is capable of such a thing. It's almost as if victims should stop going public on social media about stuff like this, but instead go to the police if anything illegal occured.
Ghosting is only a "problem" because of mismatched expectations. From all accounts I've read, the accusers themselves even say he never made a monogamous commitment to them and "ghosted" them once the girls demanded that. This is why you shouldn't enter into a sexual relationship with someone you don't have a commitment to. Women deluding themselves into thinking a sexual relationship automatically leads to a real relationship is why these women are so salty. Them's the rules of hookup culture. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.I still think he's a creepy piece of shit, the fact that he waited till she was of age or a woman has little bearing on that. She could of been in her 30s when they started to talk and it wouldn't change my opinion. Ghosting someone irrespective of gender only after you've got your end away is a pretty nasty thing to do to someone.

Oh it's absolutely both. It's more just a question of it being one person who did this or if this was just part of the "critic meat grinder", so to speak. Why can't it be both?
I mean, there's backlash and then there's the Lovelies. They're in a massively different echelon to a lot of other fandoms. Again, they're like K-pop stans or the Steven Universe fandom, ravenously autistic and ready to leap down your throat at a minute's notice; you can't really prepare for them, because they are fast, relentless, and do not give a fuck about how horrible they are in the name of whatever virtue they're doing something in the name of their idols. If they're concerned that others fans may be treated the same way as they had been and want to warn them beforehand, I think they should make their experiences public knowledge; they should just be ready for the inevitable backlash they're going to face from the fans who refuse to believe their idol is capable of such a thing.

Dan is a manipulator. The women had sex with them because they were under the impression Dan wanted a relationship. A lot of them were young, dumb, and riddled with daddy issues not to mention fans, so they easily fell for it. Not going to say they don't have agency, anyone can get used far into adulthood especially when it comes to sex or money. It's just shitty. The girls had free agency to decide if they wanted to sleep with Dan or not and everyone was legal/consenting; but it's still not the way Dan should be treating a fanbase that he claims to love/respect.
Normally I’d be all “suing journalists is bad precedent, he was a public figure, blah blah blah”, but this time there was no reason for Newsweek to stick its nose into this. There was no report to the police, no other lawsuit or formal accusation, just a fucking reddit post of cherrypicked sexual encounters. Dan is a sleeze, but even he’s entitled to some presumption of a private sex life.Dan should sue Newsweek at the fucking least.
For a commie he whines and demands money a lotI fucking hate Vaush
i hate vaush.mp4
Don't think ghosting someone and harassing women online have anything to do with each other, or are you saying that bullying is the same category as ghosting someone?Ghosting is only a "problem" because of mismatched expectations. Still, Dan and any of the lefty Game Grumps staff who stand behind him are massive hypocrites after their whole "anti-bullying" and "don't harass women online" rhetoric for the past several years.
It's more the fact that they're whiteknighting cucks that specifically talked about the "harassment" of Zoe Quinn and Anita Sarkeesian and are overall pozzed "You're perfect the way you are" types. Like I said, ghosting to me is just a mismatch of expectations, but doing it is hypocritical if you've aligned yourself politically with a side that says "ghosting is being shitty towards women".Don't think ghosting someone and harassing women online have anything to do with each other, or are you saying that bullying is the same category as ghosting someone?
If they can't find anything incriminating, it's pointless. Posting online is just a way of letting everyone know Dan's a slimey guy. It's almost as if victims should stop going public on social media about stuff like this, but instead go to the police if anything illegal occured.
What illegal thing do you think happened? Again, I hate Game Grumps and wish for their downfall. But where do you draw the line between "calling out a slimey guy" and what Zoe Quinn said to get a guy to kill himself? If they can't find anything incriminating, it's pointless. Posting online is just a way of letting everyone know Dan's a slimey guy.
