Yep. Another chapter in the Cliven Bundy saga. Protesters have taken over a Federal building in Oregon, claiming the government is using unfair tactics to try and get them to sell them their farmland. Shit hit the fan when ranchers where arrested for arson. The ranchers claim they where doing it to kill off invasive crops and to prevent wildfires. The protesters think the arrest was the government trying to punish ranchers.

The Burns Paiute tribe has guaranteed access to the refuge for activities that are important to their culture, including gathering a plant used for making traditional baskets and seeds that are used for making bread. The tribe also hunts and fishes there.

Just so you know, we have tons of these bombs and actually de-milling them and disposing of them somehow actually costs more than dropping them on something.

So when we have actual idiots who really should be blown up, it would cost a lot less to drop some device on them than to de-mil it.

Plus, we could then spend the money saved on prosecuting them (since you don't prosecute dead people) on rebuilding whatever we knocked down by dropping the bomb on them.

Sounds like the Feds managed to wait out the militants. Looks like the only guy who died is someone who refused to get taken alive anyhow.

Robert 'LaVoy' Finicum is the name of the protester who was killed. Apparently, he had been acting as a spokesman for the militia. It sounds like the fact that all of the leaders in a vehicle together was too good of an opportunity for the feds to pass up.
