Shots rang out in Minneapolis early Saturday after federal police tried to subdue a man who was waving around a gun, according to law enforcement sources and video posted to social media.

A 39-second clip showed about half a dozen cops struggling with someone on the sidewalk in front of a donut shop at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, when the gunfire erupted.

The officers appeared to scatter after the barrage of shots went off, according to the footage.



The shooting happened after the man brandished a firearm with two magazines, a law enforcement source told The Post, sharing a photo of the firearm.

In a statement, city officials urged residents to stay calm and avoid the area.


“We are aware of reports of another shooting involving federal law enforcement in the area of 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm additional details,” the statement said.

More than 100 protesters had been at the scene when the encounter occurred. The man’s condition was not immediately known.





On Friday, protesters yelled obscenities at two people wearing plain clothes who they believed to be agents after protesters claimed their rental car was linked to the incident, according to video reviewed by The Post.

Neither person was an officer.



Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) posted about the incident on X late morning Saturday as the details of the shooting were still unfolding.

“I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening,” he wrote.

“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”


Neither the White House or the Department of Homeland Security have said what precipitated the shooting, and did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

There's a big difference between caring and attempting to convince yourself and others that it's a good thing or even something which won't matter. It's also embarrassing to have another thread to suck off the fat retarded men they baited with a 50k bonus to work at ICE when they're the ones blowing up any hope or positive outlook towards stronger borders or even winning midterms. i think if the guy unholstered or reached for his gun at any point he would've been mowed down on the spot, so i think he was unarmed during the struggle because if did arm himself and become a threat he would've been shot before that one agent was allowed to disarm him.

someone earlier in this thread pointed out that one of the guns might've had a negligent discharge (SIG P320's are pretty notorious for this funnily enough) which in turn spooked the agents who then magdumped the guy in response thinking he was still armed and fired the shot (which would make sense in the audio, there's an initial shot followed by a short pause followed by a volley of bullets from several agents), i'm not trying to CONCLOOD this early in the information cycle but i could see this being the scenario that played out.

I'll wait till more footage comes out. I'd rather wait until there's a broader determination on who's at fault. But my money goes toward the protestor. If it's the ICE agent, then I'll assume something happened that made them pull the trigger. With everything going on, I'm not surprised ICE agents are holding the trigger at any means possible because they don't know who's going to attack or provoke them.

Imagine being an American and 50% of Americans hate your guts and 90% of Americans in the place you are at right now aside from your fellow officers want to literally kill you. Not goatherders in some fellow country. Other fellow Americans and the politicians that are supposed to defend you.

The shitbag American politician has so little regard for your life vs his political ambitions that he stands down local law enforcement who would obviously be the best experts at preserving order in this situation creating a defacto lawless zone, forcing you to defend Yourself Escape from LA style. Hoping either you get killed or you get in trouble in the process of having to do the job local law enforcement should be doing and is not your wheelhouse.

Forced to make and criticized for life or death split second decisions every day based on split second turned wheels of a vehicle bearing down on you or gun positions of an armed man that hates you that the buffoons on Reddit can zoom in on and analyze for days.

At a certain point professionalism doesn't work anymore. Even Seal Team Six would be making mistakes in the impossible situation they are placed in and the one thing I agree with antiICE is that the average Joe ICE officer is not Seal Team Six nor should they be expected to be.

Like I said earlier; too many people are ideology-brained and don’t stop to think about the wider consequences or implications of what they do or think. A lot of these issues are systematic and reflect bigger trends that go far beyond “sides” or whatever party is in power (which is effectively just a semantic difference at this point). That’s why I said that the current right reminds me of libs and leftists when they were at their zenith of cultural and governmental influence. There is also a larger point about how politics is effectively becoming a religion for a lot of people.

Because there is no middle ground to fight over left.

The left and the right want two radically different things with no inbetween possible. If you're on the left you want to flood Europe and North America with niggers and browns and enact a genocide of the natives, coupled with the deluded fantasy the imports will spare you and yours for being an ally, while the right just wants to be left the fuck alone in their homelands.

Also I don't need an excuse, I literally think it's funny when leftists die because I hate them. I was just pointing out that logically the 'play nice' with terrorists argument is fucking dumb regardless of how you try to spin it. My guess is that the agent who fired first (green shirt, black hat) saw the holstered gun, got surprised, went to draw his gun and then looked back and saw the suspect's pistol was no longer there and so thought the suspect had unholstered it himself (instead of the truth, which was that another agent had disarmed him).

Not smart to bring a gun to a protest but all pretty ugly. Actually the sort of ugliness that shows why you don't want to bring a gun to something like this.
