Dumbass. Excess CO2 is bad for the ocean, one reason being that it raises the acidity of the water. This causes coral and shells to dissolve. You need land for trees and other vegetation to use up CO2 and counter-balance it with the production of oxygen. If you destroy the trees and replace them with factories, not only do you eliminate that CO2 reduction/oxygen production that was in place, you also are now producing even more CO2, speeding up the acidification of the oceans.
