Armored Core

@HexFag thanks.
Any reason I should go with AC2 over AC3 or vice versa?
AC3 (i'm going to refer to it as the third generation because of how many games fit into it) is a more refined version of AC2's gameplay with a fuckton more parts and games to play. Just keep in mind you don't get full analog controls (unless you patch your game) until Nexus. Most people (including myself) will argue that Gen 3 is the best gen of Armored Core games next to maybe 4 and 6.

AC3 it’s!

I assume this is the patch? - https://github.com/VanLaser/analog-controls-for-armored-core-ps2

The new 30MM model kits for AC6 have been revealed as part of Bamco's video presentation for the 30 Minute series. I'll attach images soon, but it definitely seems like they aim for AC6 to be a sub-line for it. There's already an optional weapons kit they've announced, covering a couple of the starter rear weapon attachments from the game. Only the starter AC and Nachtrigger/Rusty AC for now.

It's not the LOADER 4 starter AC but Nightfall, real Raven's AC. Personally I'll get both since they are quite cheap. For those who have little or no experience building model kits, these 30MM are very good starting points and you can practice sanding nubs down easily since it's Bandai's plastic.
I hope Kotobukiya can come up with something for AC6 other than rerun of old kits, which I doubt they'll do anything about it soon from the look of it, given Bandai is trying to out-goon their mechamusume game. I'd still recommend you building a couple Master Grades from Bandai first to get a hang of model kit building and then move onto Kotobukiya kits as their plastic quality is not quite close to Bandai's, has friction issue like CR-HOGIRE (both AC4 and ACFA versions) loose shoulder joints after a while and most 3rd gen kits like AC3 Crest/Mirage AC. These kits also have a lot of surface details, meaning that at minimum you have to use panel lining markers to get the most out of it, the brighter kits like White Glint that is.
Oh and did I tell you how much sex appeal NATCHREIHER frame has?

Got the physical 3 discs OST of AC6 today, not sure why it took so long to arrive while others in the country already have it the day it is released or the next. The first 2 discs are just AC6 OST that are already on streaming sites like Spotify and such. The real reason you'd want this OST collection is the 3rd disc. This disc is what Kota Hoshino and everyone in FromSoftware sound team get to cook up something special. Everyone goes on about how good the remixed AC6 tracks are but personally for me, Apex in Circle (Over The Top), The Encounter World 2024 and Stain -final version- fucking slap harder than the entirety of disc 3. The final track, Take Me Anywhere, is really sweet. You rarely get to hear a song that is sung by the entire development team for AC6.
Enough words, those are meaningless now. Show me how hard you can headbang to this.

In case anyone missed it, the Armored Core VI Coop Mod released earlier today.
Hopefully there will be an expansion in the future for AC6 after Elden Ring DLC. There's only a few mission I can think of that benefits from co-op play in the base game tbh but dicking around with your mates sounds good enough.

On other note, just had an all-nighter with my college mates on ACVD just before the servers are shut down. Our guild hasn't been active for 5 years and this really bring back a lot of memories. Also listening to EGF ver.2 again feels so good man.

Just finished Allmind
Dumb bitch, we could've had the harem ending with schizo brainwife and AI, instead you had to go with the inferiority complex fail who I was trouncing for three runs

An Ayre figurine was announced under the Robot Spirits line and is currently taking orders. It does not transform into the laser cannon nor that flying jet, unfortunately. It's just the base AC in painted plastic, no lighting elements at all.

I will add more that Kotobukiya revealed a 3D print prototype of STEEL HAZE at Shizuoka Hobby Show. So far, aside from being an obvious prototype with 3D print lines all over it, it looks absolutely stunning with all the surface details, much better than 30MM line but obviously will be pricier. The size is a bit concerning as it stands about as tall as the Decoction Model AALIYAH (Die cast frame with plastic shell, not standard model kit) but it doesn't seem to fall under Variable Infinity line so the size choice could be deliberate.

SquareEnix is also jumping into AC with Structure Arts series, starting with a set of 4 ACs with Anfang (AC1), Nineball (MoA), Leos Klein (AC2) and another one also from AC2. Bandai is starting an AC line in Shokugan series which I don't really care much about as there's no model to show off.

This is the perfect time to jump into model kit building if you haven't already. 30MM AC line is great for beginners and Kotobukiya AC line for more experienced builders. Both could use some painting to make the details stand out more.

So there was a ranking reset last week for AC6, no balance changes or anything. The weekends were just Lammergeier rats/kites, heavy zimmers/hubens AB extravaganza, dual Etsujin kites into melee or the rarer dual Harris kites. God I fucking hate the PvP scene even more now and I don't even have enough sweat in the body to climb to S rank again, might as well do meme builds in B rank.

FromSoft should either de-emphasize the impact ACS break has on the game or add Unranked matchmaking. Can't stand the sweaty atmosphere Ranked matching has now.

Vatti made a "lore" video. Lore in quotations because he just literally goes over every event of the game extremely slowly (seriously you can finish the game twice in that monstrous 5.5 hour length) since the game has no actual deeper plot beyond "things happen". I'm 90 minutes in, it's the video equivalent of trying to get blood out of a stone, any lore is either expanding on characters no one gives a shit about, or describing obvious shit that a 9 year old would understand (do you really need to explain that 13 is an unlucky number?)

The only thing it got going is the presentation and nice background noise, which I (shamefully) have it on while doing something. For as minimum attention I paid to it, nothing of note stand out as the story is really easy to follow and whatever background lore that you decide to engage is not intentionally vague like Souls games. Best he could do in that video is speculating lore based on characters' voice intonation, something about Walter's tone while talking to G1 Michigan implying that they know each other as an example. But even then, you can already come to that conclusion during their first conversion without any voice analysis. Overall it's a pointless video for those who already know the story in and out. It's mainly aiming at those who just simply don't even pay attention to the story, and then whine about the game having no story, then come to Vatti's video and be amazed at how much shit they missed.

God, modern gamers' attention span is beyond fucked if they need a 5 hours video explaining the story of a game.

I just realized after watching a video of people playing the coop mod that the defending group can see the invader's name and emblem, so everyone I have invaded has seen this pop into their game.

Are there enough people playing the co-op mod for invasions to work properly/consistently? I never really thought there would be a big community for Armored Core 6 Co-Op.

I was getting fairly quick joins over the weekend afternoons, but I haven't played in a couple of weeks so it might not be so populous now. Other times it was a crapshoot.
