I feel bad for Arnie to an extent. He's just become a tool for globohomo and a living meme referencing his past accomplishments. He's still got millions of dollars even after the divorce, supporting his love child, settlements to god knows how many women he fucked on the side, but he should just fade quietly into the night.

His peak era was objectively better than Stallone's. Excluding maybe the impact of the Rocky franchise. But Stallone's later period was much more respectful and successful than Arnie's. The man made Rambo 4 in his 60's so he still owns it.

Edit: reflecting on their later careers, I have so much respect to Stallone for not burying his characters. At least so far (Demolition Man 2 might still happen). You just know that if yet another Terminator movie was greenlit and they want to stick Arnie in a tutu and have him get fucked in the ass by a trans stand-in for John Connor that he would say yes. Stallone backed out of Creed 3 and aired his grievances.

Strange... he mentions the Nazi's, Confederacy etc., but doesn't give an example of the other (much more destructive and successful) wing of totalitarian leadership that was (and is) steeped in both perverse self love and perverse hatred of others.

Is this a cynical PR move to make him look good, or an attempt to talk radicals back from the edge of doing something drastic? It might be both, but given Hollywood's ties to Communism, particularly the highly inhumane, organ harvesting flavour popular with the rulers of China... I think he is not a credible negotiator, however well he has aged or recognizable his voice and face.

Sly making some of the most hard edged and bleak American action movies in recent memory, and ones in a decades old franchise at that, alone would make him a legend, but add managing to bring Rocky back from borderline self-parody when everyone thought it'd be ridiculous and he's just on another level.
