For wiki:

The Artemis II mission plan is to send four astronauts in the first crewed Orion spacecraft into a lunar flyby using the Block 1 variant of the Space Launch System. The mission profile is a multi-trans-lunar injection (MTLI), or multiple departure burns, and includes a free-return trajectory from the Moon. The Orion spacecraft will be sent to a high Earth orbit with a period of roughly 24 hours. During this time the crew will perform various checkouts of the spacecraft's life support systems as well as an in-space rendezvous and proximity operations demonstration using the spent Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS) as a target. When Orion reaches perigee once again, it will fire its main engine to complete the TLI maneuver, which will send it onto a lunar free-return trajectory, before returning to Eart

Launch attempt April 1, evening

I’m so excited about this mission. It’s just a shame Artemis doesn’t have enough Delta-V to enter lunar orbit and do an Apollo 8 style mission.

Ehhhh 8 too 11 was a long delay. Should be same. bit bases. Want damn Maz-azzt hough. Want landing Marz, and some moon base assess.

The launch of Artemis 1 was truly something to see in person and no videos online do it justice. It was like a temporary artificial sun, for a brief moment it was almost like daylight.

The SLS launch vehicle has 8.8 million lbs of thrust

These negroes are going to go beyond Apollo 8, around where Artemis 1 did. Really long outer orbits. By far the most distance from Earth with 4k pics.

What are you talking about? Apollo 8 happened in December 1968 and Apollo 11 was in July 1969. Do you really expect Artemis to do a landing mission by the end of this year? It will be lucky to happen by the end of the 2020s the way things are going.

Yes, round about feb, then landing in 2028/9. I

If it was real damage no way the feds were going to fix it quickly, probably waiting for a supplier to manufacture them a new part

I think "March" is a purely nominal date, there's no indication they know what the actual problems are or how to fix them. Isaacman's xeet is basically telling everyone to please be patient, we lack autism.

"Valve issues" should be a meme by now.
