I knew Twitter addicts like Arthur Chu would be back. But how are we going to see his unprotected tweets?

His most egregious tweets about suicide are all still there behind the follow-wall: I couldn't find any deleted tweets. And I searched very, very hard for them.

If there were any tweets that he did delete, Wayback would have at least some of them. It's difficult to tell if their archive on Arthur is comprehensive, since it only displays 10,000 results at a time, and Arthur has tweeted over half a million times. But it does contain his most recent tweet and the ones immediately before it. And the fact that I needed to narrow it down with a numerical range to find them should give you an indicator of the archive's size.

Of the 50 or so tweets that I checked, the only ones I found in the archive that are no longer on Twitter.com were these two retweets – both deleted by their respective authors. It's possible – likely, even – that some 800 retweets also got deleted in this way. Now, bear in mind, this would only be a fraction of a percent of Arthur's total tweets. Quite a lot of the 544k tweets are in fact retweets, and Socialblade also counts them in the total. So it would therefore have gone down when other people deleted them or were suspended.

The two-week gap in the data also makes it look like this number fell suddenly, when in fact it's more like a slow decay, caused by the instability of other users on the platform.

So, based on the evidence presented by my Twitter alt, it is highly unlikely that he performed any kind of mass deletions. I find the defendant not guilty on all 800 counts.

If suicide is a logical answer to Current Year, but cowardice is the only thing stopping people, does that mean Chu has rationalised himself into a situation where he commits mass  murder euthanasia for the greater good? I mean, seriously think about how crazy of an action that is. There has to be some gotcha to that stat, right!? Something that lessens the shear autistic terror it instills in a neurotypical nazi roundeye such as myself?

A lot of Arthur's retweets are him boosting one of his replies to a thread up to his feed so all his fans won't miss his brilliance.

I heard about it in the Moviebob thread a while back. IIRC he deactivated it of his own accord after having a tantrum about some issue I forget what, but probably over the concept that the Based Emerald Electric Car Man would take over Twatter. @Positron might have the receipts.

The Musk thing just coincided with it, he was getting shit on for saying suicide was a good idea in our modern corrupt society and should be considered because it might stop the further downfall of society and might wake people up to realize COVID is killing billions of people every day and vaccines are bad and so on. He hasn’t. I’ve been checking periodically on my alt. He hadn’t Liked anything. And his most recent tweet was still that retweet of @DomRobins0n. Not unless he posted in the last few days, which was the last time I checked.
