I think Arthur has like, a vague idea of what the concept of "introspection" means, but he's too terrified to indulge in it because he'd have to reconcile with the fact that the reason he's so miserable has everything to do with the choice he makes each and every day.

I mean, I know that, but it's just interesting that he'd rather focus on the Germans.
