I’ve been intrigued by this ongoing debate on YouTube between theists and atheists. From what I’ve seen, both can be very smug. Girls Defined is a popular Christian YouTube channel and has caused massive debates between Christians and atheists alike. Personally, the amount of attention that atheist channels are giving to Girls Defined is only making them more relevant. I don’t like the way Girls Defined approaches topics, but I can see where they are coming from and agree with some things they say here and there.
On the other hand, you have atheist channels that make their money off of criticizing channels like Girls Defined. Overall, atheist channels have this “I have superior logic and reason than all other theists” attitude, which doesn’t really help in attracting those that would want an honest debate. The fan bases of these channels, ironically, treat these atheist YouTubers like TellTale, Mr. Atheist, AiU, etc. like deities/prophets.
What do you think of these channels? Are they effective? Why is there a lack of criticism in Eastern philosophies from atheists? How do you feel about religious based channels?
