The fact that they are what a couple hundred years removed and genocided and treated like slave cattle is what cracks my shit up. Like holy hell, the AoT verse humanity holds a grudge more than the most petty people we've ever seen! Like honest to god, this whole thrust into "modern age" fucked up what was once my favorite manga. Had high hopes for the shit across the sea after the timeskip break
That's because Isayama has unrealistic expectations of people were he thinks every person is a hyperaggressive powder keg.

I genuinely want to know what happened to him to make him like this. I remember reading somewhere that he was severely bullied growing up, and given with how AoT is now just one big racist, nihilistic, misanthropic, edgelord revenge fic, I can believe that. You know, if that is the case, and if Isayama is a literal autist like he seems to be, everything in AoT kinda makes a bit more sense.

Not storywise, or in-story really, mind you, but meta-wise. It explains why everyone hates the Eldians because like you said, Isayama might actually be incapable of understanding that people have different points of view and that the vast majority of people aren't hateful, angry speds like he is.

It's actually kind of sad, really. AoT might've just turned into the rambling, racist, misanthropic, sadistic, illogical, nihilistic, edgelord revenge fantasy fanfic of a man who wishes to get back the world for things that don't even matter anymore.

The more I see the more I'm sure that Isayama is an autist who can only understand one emotion, hate. His story is about hate. He hates his fans and goes out of the way to shit on thing they like. Eren's plan to deal with everyone else hating his race is mass genocide.

Being a hateful literal sped would explain why he's a hyper nationalist, extremist ideologies tend to attract autists because they can't comprehend the nuances in human behavior and it's easier to understand "hate these people because they are actively evil"

I'm just trying to see how it finally turns out, at this point. There's like 6 chapters left?
That's what sources say, but I'm extremely doubtful of that. I honestly don't see how you could end this thing in six chapters with all the extra shit Isayama has thrown in unless you literally just goes "rocks fall, everyone dies".

As for how I think it's gonna end, I've listed things before, but I'm gonna narrow it down to either titan-cancer kills Eren, Historia finally fucking has her baby and it turns out to be Eren and he stops because he's a father, or Eren just literally succeeds and kills everyone.

Other users have speculated that it might end like Code Geass, but I honestly think Isayama is too spiteful of a person to do that.

Especially to a certain blonde within the Cringevengers who has hurt him even more then Zeke did.
That's another thing I wanna bring up.

Did Levi just forget that Annie killed his squad and his heavily implied to be fiancée? Like what the fuck, why was Marco's death brought up, but not Petra's, Olou's, and whatever the fuck other ones' names were?

Just want to give credit where credit is due, Eren didn't decide to genocide the rest of the world on a whim. He actually took the time and effort to see Marley for himself before going full edge-lord. Granted, he still lacks perspective, but I'd like to think he gave the rest of the world a chance (in his own mind).
Plus Marley (and some other countries?) did technically declare war before Eren attacked them. Granted it was like a second before but still.

Okay, fucking random, but I just figured out the unintentional reason Levi is so incompetent and it's not author fiat.

He has brain damage from childhood malnutrition. It's heavily implied that's the reason he's so short and it would also explain why he's so dumb. He's literally fucking retarded.

Yes, I know that's nowhere near what Isayama intended or even thought about, but in the hands of a better writer, this would explain everything and be actually a really fucking clever reason as to why Levi is the way he is and why he always makes stupid decisions.

Sorry for double-posting, but I've been rereading prior chapters and I came across a page that genuinely makes me angry. Forgive me if it was brought up before.

There's just so much wrong with this that's it's actually kind of infuriating.
  1. First of all, apparently one of the two things Eren hates the most is cows. Look, I get it's a callback to the cattle metaphor from the first arc, but it's still really funny.
  2. Second of all, Mikasa's retarded-ass Ackergenes are the reason she's a "slave" to you. It's literally a biological reason that she has no control over. You fucking know this, or it's at least heavily implied that you fucking know this, Eren. Hell, it's heavily implied that you're the reason she was ever "enslaved" to you in the first place. Either way, fuck you.
  3. I love how Eren explicitly states that he hates people who are slaves, and not slavery itself, nor the people who enslaved the people themselves. He's essentially saying that slavery is a choice, and therefore all the blames rests solely on the victims of slavery for allowing themselves to be enslaved and not the assholes actually enslaving them.
  4. I wonder if Eren's above mindset extends to other crimes. Does Eren hate child molestation victims because they "allowed" themselves to molested? Does he hate rape victims because they "allowed" themselves to be raped? Does he hate murder victims because they "allowed" themselves to be murdered? I know this is (hopefully) not what Isayama meant to imply, but it sure as hell reads like it is.
  5. And before anyone starts to argue that all those things are "technically" a choice, I'd just like to say fuck you, no they're not. Victims of such disgusting and depraved acts are forced to do them because they're scared for their lives, afraid of them being harmed, or their loved ones being harmed, they're too young to know what's going on and can't defend themselves, they're up against a foe that they can't beat be it because of all sorts of reasons like technologically advantages, or strength advantages, etc. What I'm getting at is that Eren's statements are not just incredibly sociopathic, they're incredibly naive.
  6. Tying into number 5, this seems to imply that Eren doesn't understand that the vast majority of the world aren't bloodthirsty, petty, sociopathic douche-canoes with superpowers and healing abilities that let them do whatever the fuck they want like him. At least in real life. The vast majority of the world in AoT is apparently just like that-minus the superpowers and healing abilities. What I'm getting at is that Isayama is just projecting again.
  7. Lastly and on that note, holy shit, does Eren reek of being Isayama's edgelord self-insert in this scene. Like, the subtext is so fucking palpable. Seriously all I'm hearing is "You're (the Japanese) all just willful slaves to the Americans that we totally could've beaten if we had just had giant fighting monsters and superpowers! Who cares if millions more would've died after millions had already perished in the most horrific bombings ever committed? We totally could've won. You guys just gave up because you wanted to be slaves.".

I think it would be in character for Erin to see slavery as a choice, as dumb as it is to think it. He thinks people can just hack and slash their way through tyranny, because that's what he had been doing since he could kill titans.

I could totally buy him just being a dumb hateful piece of shit and that's the end of it, but I have a crackpot theory that he said all that to try and "free" her. in the sense of just having her not care about him anymore so she doesn't mind him dying or try to side with him, and that by severing her emotional connection to him it will deactivate her ackerman imprinting and she'll be able to kill him at the end. "see you around, eren".

I think the stuff about hating slaves is referring to people who willingly surrender their freedom and have zero desire to get it back. Like Grisha's parents.

But this is all a moot point, Eren is obivously lying because he saw a bunch of timelines and saw that this is the only one where Armin and Mikasa live or some dumb shit like this. I'm positive it's gonna be some dumb shit like that where it turns out saying this was literally the only way to save them.

Its pretty stupid that Isayama tried to convince us that Eren was being truthful when Eren said he always hated Mikasa, which is obivously false. If he said that he hated her ever since he found out she's just some pile of slave data or something, that would be shocking because there's a possibility he could've meant that.

So from what I've read in this thread I was right to drop the anime when gorilla titan showed up?
