I'll say it again. Eren growing up to become the villain was a great idea that completely made sense. It's everything else along with it that completely ruined it.

What was Isayama smoking when he wrote the second half of Attack On Titan and can I have some of it?
Have you watched Mars of Destruction yet? It's even got a dubbed version which I haven't watched but I assume it will be as high-quality as the rest of the OVA. Just asking because you said you'd review it and I haven't seen your insightful analysis yet.Pure autism. Also he collects his fingernails in jars. He is not all there.
I still think he's got something else wrong with him. No doubt he's a sperg, but I think he's also got something else going on that we don't even know about yet. I don't what exactly, but all I'm gonna say I wouldn't surprised if he winds up being arrested for assault, or weapons charges.Pure autism. Also he collects his fingernails in jars. Collecting his nails in a jar sounds more like OCD than something dangerous to the public, TBH.I still think he's got something else wrong with him. Generally there's always one guy in charge: either solo or with assistants who draw backgrounds and such, but there are famous mangas that had different artist and writer (eg.: Death Note)Do manga artists always handle the writing and illustration solo, or is it just this guy?
No. No, there was no reason. That's the biggest mystery of this entire series. None of this had to happen, and no one knows why it did. The most common theories for it are:I only know AoT by reputation and reading this thread so my question is: Was there a reason for the second half of this manga to be a cluster fuck? Everyone praises it to high heavens but those guys seems to be on the anime side that didn't reach the cluster fuck part yet. I find it difficult to believe that Isayama just said fuck it and threw his golden goose under the bus because he's an ass.
Isayama does all the work in regards to the story, and the art. He did have editors at one point, but one of them had a mental breakdown in a bathroom after seeing Sasha die (she was gonna die much earlier, but the editor's said meltdown is what saved her), and the other one killed his wife and is now in jail. I don't anything about his current editors, or if he even has any at the moment. If he had someone with some writing chops wrangling his storyline a bit it while he focused on the visuals, it could be quite a bit better. Do manga artists always handle the writing and illustration solo, or is it just this guy? Either way, it seems like he's fallen prey to his own.. ambitious... writing,

Isayama planned to end this at the ocean, but the publishers forced him to continue, and he's just lashing out.
You have to realize the second part was written before the anime aired. And its actually very simple: Isayama had no plan.
They can pressure you into doing it. I'm not quite sure how but happened with DBZ, and it's highly suspected to have with Death Note.I don't know much about the manga biz but how would publishers force him? They'd say "if you don't make more of this we wont publish your other works?"

Other successful mangakas take massive hiatuses (eg.: Berserk) and no publisher seems to bat an eye in their cases, coudln't he just sat down for half a year and figure shit out? Then again if he's lashing out he probably doesnt give much of a shit at this point.

Isayama set up a mystery box and didn't know what was in it before hand. Everything that has gone on is a matter of "Things he did to put off getting to the box" or "Things that are a consequence of making the answer in the box SUPER DUPER EPIC, because he blue balled everyone for years so it needed to match the Hype"Was there a reason for the second half of this manga to be a cluster fuck?
I was hoping you'd see the ripoff of NGE with the suit only the dad's son could use as well as the "humans were the bad guys all along" comparison to AoT. That said, I'm slightly offended that you thought I told you to watch that just to make you miserable, considering how much you enjoyed tearing AOT and TLoU2 apart I knew you've love this.long
That actually does sound like a good ending. I don't why Floch would be the one to survive, but that's beside the point. If I had to guess if this is going be an actual ending, I think it's only going to be the one for anime. This sounds like something the studio would come up with in order to salvage this mess.If we assume the animation fully represents what will happen, without any tricks, Eren will eventually be forced to kill all his friends (except for the Floch the Chad) for the sake of continuing with the Rumbling, after which a new world will be created. Eren lives out the rest of his life with Ymir, but is emotionally devastated by what he's done.
