As much as I agree that the MC is a fucking retard and this whole manga went down the shitter ages ago, I think the issue with him being a sexless autist is a problem that plagues "action/adventure"-oriented manga/anime for some time. Sometimes its taken to such ridiculously retarded extremes that the characters barely seem human or downright emotionless when it comes to interacting with other characters, to the point where the only thing missing is for them to say "no way fag". Shonen shit is usually even worse in this area with characters just being soulless Goku clones or having a constant happy/dopey look that hardly ever changes unless they're in a fight.
Also I find it funny that the fucking Crest "Wall of Teeth" commercials from the 70s are now probably a better alternative to Attack on Titan.

But yes, a lot of manga is typically sexless, especially Shonen fair. Seinen much less so. I mean, like dudes in Shonen get literal harems and don't have sex. Even in Ecchi manga/LNs like Highschool DxD, nobody gets laid. Its frustrating because of how annoying it is, like there's no reason some of these people wouldn't have fucked, especially in DxD. I just gave up when I realized it was sexless through the anime, manga and LN. I'm not fucking watching 40 episodes of fan service. Its not going to fucking happen.
Anime is the only genre I can think of that can be sexual and completely sterile at the exact same time. No wonder why nobody in Japan is fucking. That's why when I was watching
Record of Grancrest War, the main character and his love interest hook up after 4 episodes in a 20+ episode series, allowing their relationship to you know, actually developed. I was literally shocked when it happened. No 450 hours of 'will they or won't they' only to hold hands at the very end, they fuck in the fourth episode and are a couple. Fucking. Amazing. And it can get that bullshit out of the way too, and make room for more plot. It doesn't need to dance around it.
That's one thing I loathe about anime and a lot of manga, is how sexless and sterile they can be even while being highly sexually charged at the same time. And obviously, not every manga/anime/LN needs a love interest. Not having one is fine. Its when they do have one and all this shit happens, completely sexless but sexual, that it pisses me off. AoT is just full on sterile to a pathological degree where the dude runs away from who the issue of who fucked Historia for 3 years and almost half of the manga. That's not normal.
That's one reason I can sort of forgive Darling and the Frankxxx for. At least the love interests have sex and kids. Except for Zero Two. They really need to re-do that thing and give it a decent ending.

The one Shonen I forgive this is Black Clover. Because Asta is portrayed as an autist in love with someone he can never have and doesn't really notice or care about any other women. At least it has a plot reason why.
