It's Eren's birthday today, and I would just like to remind everyone once again that he decided to genocide the entire world because he got family-zoned.
It wasn't to save his race.

That's what's hysterical about it. It was pretty obvious from the first fucking part that Mikasa had the hots for Eren and then when Eren finally realizes it, she just goes, "Uh, family?" Instead of being overjoyed.
Again, it happens because Isayama wants it to. There's no real reason for it. And she never ever brings it up again or reconsiders it. The best part? This incredibly important scene is done in a flashback. This is unimaginably idiotic.
But again, its par for the course with this manga. It happens because Isayama wants it to happen, not because of any logical reason.

I sincerely believe Isayama is autistic. He doesn't understand normal human interactions, collects his toenails in a jar. People act extremely illogically or strangely. He seems terrified of sex to the point where he won't even name who Historia slept with one chapter left and it will probably be an after-thought even if it was a main plot point and side-lined a great character for the entirety of the series.
He has no clue that this bonding moment would have carried over and Mikasa wouldn't just drop the issue, especially with the feelings that she had for Eren. Its a major thing and she never brings it up again? Yeah, ok. For some reason he acts like its impossible for it to happen. This might have been true if he were with Historia, but who knows.
Its constantly like this. Plot holes galore, plots just abandoned by the wayside, insane tonal changes, excessive use of author fiat to the point where it actively destroys any suspension of disbelief. The whole thing is fucking trash. I hope he goes full fucking Anno at the end and write some nonsensical bullshit that comes off as 'deep'.
Jobless reincarnation was superior to this in every way.
Go fuck yourself. AoT is trash and I hope Isayama wants to hurt people by writing the shittiest ending possible.

There has been autists and stranger weirdos with more creativity than this. I get that his titans are a nod to his bad experiences with people, but his characters are even less human than most people irl.

You know, the last chapter is coming out soon, and I gotta admit, it's a pretty sobering thought.
Don't get me wrong, I've wanted this thing to end for a long time, but now that it actually is I'm kinda sad. To see a series with such a promising, and interesting premise end in such a likely anti-climatic way with so many questions left unanswered is frankly just kind of depressing.
I'm hoping we get at least one last huge WTF moment, but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't happen either.

Which makes no sense. From the beginning of the manga, Eren has always treated Mikasa like an annoying smothering overprotective mom.
Now when Isayama wants to add a romance to the manga, Eren loves her all of a sudden? Fuck you Isayama, this is not how writing works.
Exactly. I can understand her panicking in the moment because she's like 19 with no romantic experience and she doesn't want to hurt what they have but there's no reason she wouldn't think it over, realize why Eren would ask that, and follow up with him except that Isayama is writing the plot events first and then writing the character interactions to match. And he has Autism.

This. All of this. There were times where it seemed like Eren didn't even like Mikasa and just wanted her to stop tagging along with him all the time and putting his life on a pedestal at the expense of everything else. Even Armin got tired of her shit and told her to think for herself for once.

I have a feeling like the reason Eren loved Mikasa was that Isayama like some of his ideas were gained from the anime (such as how Eren's character arc changed upon hearing his voice in the anime) since the anime's director (when the anime was back in WIT's control) was a very major shipper of Eren x Mikasa and has often been made fun of by the fandom due to how IIRC he gave more emphasis on Mikasa in the anime.
