How will Eren be stopped?

This ended in the worst way possible, its so fucking bad that it goes 180% and becomes good just to keep going and become bad again and again.

I gotta give props to Isayama for writing something so bad, not even Gloria Tesch and Chirs Chan combined would've been talented enough to write something so dogshit, it's actually really fucking impressive, as someone who trolled on fanfiction.net in the past I even feel jealous.

It's almost as if Isayama had planned this ending exclusively to make @Secret Asshole happy while shitting on 80% the rest of the readers.

To be fair real life is also always anti-climatic pointless bleak and enraging so you gotta recognize that if the AoT world was real and Elliot Rodger was in a position of power the same exact shit would've happened, I totally not regret been invested on this shit for 11 years.

Attack on Titan by Rian Johnson (his only good movie was Brick and that was a letdown)

Let me guess, Neil Druckmann is somehow also involved with this production, right?

Speaking of Druckmann, exactly how bad was this ending, compared to the Masters of Subverting Expectations in TLOU2, GOT, Lost, TLJ, and even Mass Effect 3?

I think this is genuinly going to be hated by all sides. The best damage control reddit is able to muster is that the ending is "brave and broke new ground"

I think the more traditional audiences will hate it for being unsatisfying, contrived, and filled with character assassination

The soy audience will hate it for having Armin thank Eren for becoming super hitler to save their home, Ymir having been in love with the king the whole time, and Paradis being fully controlled by the Eren loyalists

Shippers will dislike it for only confirming two so-so relationships and Mikasa being comforted by bird-Eren

I think you're a bit late on how the ending is being taken when some Anitubers have praised it already (from what I've seen), lots of people on reddit (on r/snk whose main criticism was that there needed to be more content which would likely be the main critique from the Pro-Ending side) and twitter which give a good estimate of how normies are (Doesn't help Twitter has a hashtag trending thanking Isayama while r/SNK has worshiped Isayama).

The people that hate this are the people who were pretty much IRL Yaegerists, those who shipped Historia with any named character (since she got Farmed), /a/, r/titanfolk, many on this thread, and those who would've hated it even before it came out due to either burnout from the series or did not like how the previous chapters went like with 137 and 138.

So in the end the ending is pretty much divisive objectively in terms of reception so the mass normie backlash like with GOT S8 is probably not going to happen for this series unless MAPPA shits the bed with the second half of the Final Season.

I'm probably several years late to the party with this bad boy that I probably spent way too much time making, but goddamnit I wanted to share it.

I get that "IRL Yeagerists" hate it for portraying Eren as pathetic and Historia being plowed, but how are the "anti yeagerists" going to buy an ending which has the Yaeger faction win? The e-celebs praising the ending are likely just basing their praise on the support for the anime that just had a season ending.

I mean they didn’t really win since the extremist leaders like Floch and Eren are both dead which is why many readers side against the Yaegerists (with Floch being the most hated of the two), and some of the Anitubers are manga readers who have praised the ending.

The idea of a mass normie backlash is minimal since the ending has shown itself to be receptive to the normies who honestly would’ve had a boring reaction to the ending compared to the meltdowns on /a/ and subreddits dedicated to Yaegerist worship.

Because this wasn't the ending or intent when he wrote that
This is the only thing I can think of. He's by no means a bad writer, SnK wasn't perfect but he set up small threads that often had big payoffs and were rewarding because you could go back and see the small hints you missed that pointed towards it all along. This can only be done by someone who has a sense of direction and knows where the story is leading. Mind you it definitely lost some steam during the civil war arc, and then even more during the Rumbling but it seems so strange that he's managed to tell a fairly tight well written story over 10 years then just fumbles everything at the finish line. Either the publisher got involved and told him he couldn't use his intended ending or something happened that just made him say "fuck this" and wrap it up.

Hey the memes are good though

Phew. Reading thru this thread the past few pages makes me super glad I dumped this series 4 years ago... (and you all also have my sympathy bc I know this shit hurts.)

I don't see the issue with this ending, it's pretty much the same as The End of Evangelion with Shinji starting Third Impact because he couldn't get laid.
