Eren sacrificed himself and achieved the restoration of Eldia as one united nation as Grisha and Kruger wanted. He got rid of the power of titans as Zeke and Xaver wanted and as he promised in the beginning of the story, just not the way we expected. Eren became the Devil of earth so Armin could become the new Helos and made his friends the saviors that stopped the rumbling and become respected warriors, like Reiner wanted. He saved Gabi from becoming a Titan shifter as Falco wanted. He gave Connie and Reiner another chance to reunite with their mothers and also to Annie and Pieck to reunite with their fathers. Eren also kept his promise and travelled with Armin to the places they wished to visit since they were kids.

I dunno bros. You can argue that the execution was shit but that sounds fairly solid to me. I don't think comparing this anime to GoTs is fair. It's more apt to compare it to the final season of Battlestar Galactica. Pretty solid ideas but bogged down by a bunch of meaningless bullshit and shitty execution. I do applaud Isayama for standing to his guns on everything and I'm glad the story wasn't compromised by POZ.

In the end solid 7/10. I'd say it's a 9/10 up until 124 and then takes a drastic nose dive in quality. Kind of like Battlestar Galactica.

Uh, what? Eldia is completely fucked, he only exacerbated the problems. It basically becomes a military dictatorship that's basically going to war with the rest of the world. Eren didn't do any of that shit for anything but the pussy. Eren literally becomes a virgin with rage in the last chapter and his entire character is destroyed. Eren becomes the 'Supreme Gentleman' in the last chapter and its fucking hysterical. There is no way around this. He's in a puddle and got beaten up by fucking Armin and is crying about how he didn't want Mikasa to fuck anyone else. He had 0 intentions of doing anything you said he did and anything he accomplished was completely inadvertent and more than likely temporary. He was designed to be the villain entirely and Isayama was shocked that he wasn't seen in black and white.

He literally accomplished nothing and only exacerbated the conflict, because even if he killed 80% of humanity, those 20% are going to loathe Paradis for the rest of their days. Its even stated that the world is heading towards world war again. And whoops, turns out they DON'T have the power of titans and have to fight against a technologically superior foe. Good going Eren! GREAT JOB BRO. Everything is actually WORSE when it started out. Paradis is going to get ROFLSTOMPED in the future. Good thing he murdered 80% of humanity...for fucking nothing. Yeah, Paradis is united around a weak queen not seen in public for years and some random pleb who runs Chuck's Sneed and Feed. Totes the foundation of a long lasting empire under a dictatorship and is TOTALLY BETTER than being ruled over by a monarchy. Except now with more authoritarianism and facisim.

• Willingly torture himself both emotionally, mentally, and physically by causing traumatic events and by constantly cutting off his limbs, gouging out his eyes, and generally just mutilating himself
• Go missing for months in a country that hated him and his race
• Get kidnapped like three times
• Get his friends get severely injured, and/or killed
• Join the military at age twelve
• Fight giant monsters
• Commit acts of terror
• Kill civilians
• Kill two men when he was eight
• Commit global genocide and kill literally 80% of the world's population

Things Eren didn't have the courage to do:

• Tell Mikasa he loved her

The entire military force of the world was destroyed by Eren along with untold catastrophic damage to the environmental and infrastructural nations of the world. There may be a lot of humanity left to fight but they aren't in any position to. The survivors are living in fucking camps around the world with no infrastructure or technological advastage. Sure, you may have a couple of places unscathed but they sure as hell aren't ready for some big attack. At worst—Paradis is left with a cold war like scenario where there is a race between if the world can recover fast enough to beat Paradis technological advancement and resource advantage. I mean for fuck's sake—we literally see every last piece of weaponry the world could muster destroyed in the rumbling along with sizable portions of their military forces. What are the remnants of these surely in shambles governments going to do? Put civilians on boats and send them to fight the fuckers who fucked up Marley in a single night worse than any other nations before that point? Even without the Titans the Eldians have access to gear, equipment, and resources that are totally alien and beyond whatever the rest of the world is using. Fuck your strawman.

2. Eren didn't do all of this just for Mikasa—he did it for all of his friends and the people he cared about. Where did you even get the idea he did this all for Mikasa? He clearly tells us why he did this multiple times. Are you upset that Eren was understandably upset that he was about to die without getting to bang his Hapa gf? OH MY FUCKING GOD—A teenage boy is upset that he is going to die a virgin and never see the girl he loves again? Hold the fucking presses. If you're dying and you love someone of course you don't want them to fuck someone else—you love them and the idea of them being with someone else hurts. 3. Paradis is engaged with peace talks with the rest of the world. The survivors at the very least want to hear Paradis' side of the story. Even in the event the world still ends up hating Eldians there is no way to tell who is and who isn't anymore. Eldians have lots of viable ways to survive going forward and are in control of their own destinies. If they fuck around and find out after this then that's on them. The rest of the world thinks Eren was a psychopath who tried to destroy humanity, and they also know it was Eldians who stopped him. There's a lot of wiggle room there for Paradis to either bridge the gap between them and the rest of the world or cut it off entirely. Eren left that up to them.

4. Eren's genocide plan was the best that he could come up with without violating his own moral convictions or hurting the people he cared about. Considering he accomplished everything he set out to do and only people inconsequential to him died (save Sasha rip), things worked out pretty well. He was the necessary evil to get things done. No matter what happened everything was Eren's choice. Ymir chose him because he made the choice to do everything up until that point himself with the limited information he had.

1. It's not an assumption because we saw it happen. The world got fucking wrecked and what's left of humanity are the scared civilian masses that didn't get stomped by Eren.

2. Eren didn't kill his mom. That was a mistranslation in early fantranslations. It was implied that Ymir sent Dina to eat Carla. I agree with you here that this was pretty dumb and didn't need to exist. However, the story isn't changed by it's addition much. It was Ymir setting Eren on the path he was always going to follow. Whatever—it's a dumb plot thing and we both agree the plot is better without it. Eren confessing his feelings to Mikasa and boning her is absolutely contradictory to the whole "I want you to live on and forget about me". If you know you're going to die, and believe that death is what you deserve for murdering millions of people then why would Eren sleep with her or confess his love for her? It would be incredibly irresponsible of him if he did.

Eren straight up says why he can't be with her and can't express himself, but he also has interests of his own and let's them slip very briefly right before he dies. That's not pathetic, that's a dude spilling his beans to his best friend on his pervurvial death bed.

3&4. If the Eldians fuck it up, they fuck it up. It wasn't Eren's place to decide for his people how they'll interact with the world after he's gone. Symbolically these images are supposed to show the crossroads Eldia is at. Also—you do realize world leaders were invited into Paradis right? There is no formal declaration of war by Eldia; only a faction that wants blood and a faction that doesn't. You're picking and choosing statements and selectively picking information. Even using panels from the fucking fan-translation you can clearly see Historia is sending out negotiators (Armin and the Gang) to meet with the rest of the world, and even inviting them to come to Paradis and meet the people. Even if four hundred million people are still around they are at best reduced to bronze age tech and are mostly frightened civilians who are going to sit in their tents all day for awhile until they have the power to do anything. 1. It's not an assumption because we saw it happen. The world got fucking wrecked and what's left of humanity are the scared civilian masses that didn't get stomped by Eren.

2. Eren didn't kill his mom. That was a mistranslation in early fantranslations. It was implied that Ymir sent Dina to eat Carla. I agree with you here that this was pretty dumb and didn't need to exist. However, the story isn't changed by it's addition much. It was Ymir setting Eren on the path he was always going to follow. Whatever—it's a dumb plot thing and we both agree the plot is better without it. Eren confessing his feelings to Mikasa and boning her is absolutely contradictory to the whole "I want you to live on and forget about me". If you know you're going to die, and believe that death is what you deserve for murdering millions of people then why would Eren sleep with her or confess his love for her? It would be incredibly irresponsible of him if he did.

Even using panels from the fucking fan-translation you can clearly see Historia is sending out negotiators (Armin and the Gang) to meet with the rest of the world, and even inviting them to come to Paradis and meet the people. Even if four hundred million people are still around they are at best reduced to bronze age tech and are mostly frightened civilians who are going to sit in their tents all day for awhile until they have the power to do anything. The entire military force of the world was destroyed by Eren along with untold catastrophic damage to the environmental and infrastructural nations of the world. Sure, you may have a couple of places unscathed but they sure as hell aren't ready for some big attack. The rest of the world thinks Eren was a psychopath who tried to destroy humanity, and they also know it was Eldians who stopped him. There's a lot of wiggle room there for Paradis to either bridge the gap between them and the rest of the world or cut it off entirely. Eren left that up to them.

4. Eren's genocide plan was the best that he could come up with without violating his own moral convictions or hurting the people he cared about. Considering he accomplished everything he set out to do and only people inconsequential to him died (save Sasha rip), things worked out pretty well. He was the necessary evil to get things done. No matter what happened everything was Eren's choice. Ymir chose him because he made the choice to do everything up until that point himself with the limited information he had.
