Exactly. Every case of autism is different, for reasons we still don't understand.

Mainstream people don't really have the time to learn every individual idiosyncrasy of autism, sorry.

"this tv show about atypical people is atypical to how i expected, therefore i am going to vent my anger because i am atypical and this atypical is not the same about the atypical i know"

this is pretty much the equivalent of anita sarkeesian thinking a game about a fat lesbian in sweat pants with pink hair would make for an interesting premise for any story.
no shit they've added jokes and awkward moments to try and make the show actually interesting, no shit it doesn't match up to how you view 'atypical' people.

oh no batman isn't realistic, call da cops!!!!!
oh no this movie about black people isn't realistic, call da cops!!!!!
oh no this shit doesn't include enough transgender people, call da cops!!!!!

If any of these morons were still holding their breathe for this all-inclusive piece of media that makes everyone happy and isn't 'exploitative' they hopefully would already be dead because this shit is old.

anyway, we all know the real 'atypical' is chrischan and that's a better story than hollywood will ever be able to produce.

I looked up who the actors were because I had watched the first two episodes, and there was this Indian kid who kept making pointless dirty jokes to Sam, the main character? Guess who he was. Nik Dodani, some random actor who was supposed to be a comedian IRL. If this is what passes for comedy, then Dodani's reputation is screwed.

I'd prefer the media not try to promote and normalize mental illness. We already have enough people self diagnosing themselves as an autist for ass pats.

I guarantee the self diagnosed ones are the ones generating 99% of the salt right now.

This could actually be funny if the autist troons out, decides he's a TRUE AND HONEST woman, ends up the "girlfriend" of a beta male feminist, and then tries to take down Kiwifarms for making a thread on him.

I heard the show was all about autism finding sex. I get enough of that on here so do I really need to renew my netflix subscription?

Another Netflix original full of one dimensional characters... But I think Disjointed is worse. I just don't think it gets as much salt because most stoners don't see themselves as an oppressed minority.

Of course they are. They're encouraging people to check out the #actuallyautistic tag instead.

TV studios really need to learn that there's no point even trying to pander to a group of people who will never be happy. These people want to be angry about things and so feed each others anger in order to drive the overpowering anger of the hive mind. They're going to scream, cry and cover social media with their bullshit anyway, why spend money to make it happen?
