im glad (some) people are realizing and discovering this. like yea. we all know there are some transgender folks who aren't passing as well; but it definitely isn't "unrealistic" to see.. transgender people being seen as the gender they WANT to be? like, wow, crazy how a trans woman WANTS to look like a woman. people are rightfully criticizing you for how you depict trans people and they are also trans themselves. what happened to "listening to people from your own community" ??

under other circumstances I'd say not necessarily, because there will always be trans people who just can't pass the way they want, especially since the science just isn't there yet, so it'd make sense for people to draw art representing that subset. I think I can name at least 20 well-loved characters from various pieces of media off the top of my head that are either canonically trans, male crossdressers, dragqueens, or just some form of feminine man that some portion of the internet has collectively decided is MTF. If anything, these types of characters are overrepresented (because it's usually a fetish. I dont think Bridget the sexy femboy nun was created with respectful transwoman representation in mind)

Meanwhile, I dont think I can count even one hand's worth of canonically trans male characters, and certainly not super popular ones. 2 of the first characters that come to mind are Yamato and Togata, and is it any wonder why Autumn finds them good rep? If anything, it's troons' fault they try to claim any and every male character who shows some semblance of femininity as trans, and then get mad when said character doesn't perfectly line up with their personal experience. You don’t get to talk for group of people and tell them how much easier they have it than another group when you barely qualify as one of them. She doesn’t know what it’s like to socially, medically, or legally transition. She doesn’t have dysphoria so she has no idea how taxing it can be on the psyche. Yes, but most of the western one piece online fandom has collectively decided she's trans, or at the very least, refers to her with masculine pronouns to avoid blowback. My point being that if this is the so-called "nuanced transmasculine rep", it isn't every good.

This actually reminds me of a post autumn made on bluesky a while back that I failed to nab before she deleted it, but it was along the lines of her complaining that she didn’t have a sense of style or knew how to dress because “her mother never cared what she looked like growing up”. Which is hilarious considering you would think her mother not caring what she wore would give her more freedom to develop a style, but it also obviously isn’t your parent’s job to design your personal fashion sense for you. I don't know who she's referring to in the first screenshot, but I'm assuming she's vague posting about artists who are probably shit talking her on Twitter. And it's so dumb that she assumes that artists who still have the caption, "commissions open" in their bio/username 24/7 that it must mean no one is commissioning them. What if they have their commissions open all the time? I'm sure she didn't think of that. I know that Twitter can be pretty finicky when you want to change your username/bio, which could explain it, too. She really is salty towards others, good god, it must be exhausting being so negative every day. The fact that she thinks she's some "unique and talented" artist is what really gets me too.
