whether they have lots of bumper stickers or shitty mods all is welcome

In 2014, Italian hair stylist and artist Maria Lucia Mugno of Salerno, Italy drove her 1975 Fiat 500 to a public weigh bridge in Padula Scalo. It was there that she set a world record. Her car, covered in 264lbs of real womens’ human hair, became the world’s hairiest car.

Maria Lucia Mugno spent 150 hours covering a car in hair. Twenty days and over $106,000 covering every single tiny surface of her car in hair. So much hair that it increased the car’s weight by 20%. Hair that she disinfected, washed, bleached, dyed and dried by hand. Hair that she purchased in India.

My inner car geek is screaming to jump out on this thread. Here is one of the worst cars ever made and even before it got "famous" to western and American audiences it was always a pile of shit, so bad it doesn't have a cult following like the Yugo.

Why is it so bad? Take an awful little junk car the Fiat 124 (dago's can't into engineering) and then let commies cut corners on it. This is the pice of shit you get. While the first car came out in 67, these sold till 2000.

One of the biggest let downs of a dying car company and the cost cutting, poor choices, and all around fuck ups ruined one of the highest potentials of a decent, if not radical car.

Look at this badass!!

Oh wait, it's a fucking Plymouth Prowler. What a pile of fucking cat shit. Why is this car such a failure? This was the first car to do the hot rod or retro look before that became a thing in American car makers. Well what kind of sweet fire breathing hemi does it have? No you get a Japanese made Minivan motor with an AUTOMATIC ONLY transmission. A slug of a 4 speed junker. 214 HP is all you get out of this. The suspension is junk.

This retro look also is the cause of Ford to bring back the Thunderbird (another proper flop) and the direct birth of the style of the PT cruiser, that alone should consider the prowler for chopping block of one of the worst things ever spawning that.

The prowler sold for far too much and cutting costs to bring the price down was the main reason/excuse why they cheaped out so much. There is one saving grace of this car, being it's a rear mounted trans the weight balance is about 50-50. But because the suspension was so poorly designed it still handles poorly and only has the skid pad #s it does due to sticky meat.

I want a car covered in crazy shit. I figure those cheap plastic chinese toys they sell by the gross should be a good way to approach it.

I've seen one in my area with bible verses written all over it. I have no clue what the person's deal is but I assume they're a complete schizo and they would stab me for being a demon if they saw me looking at it.

Walter White's car. The Aztek. This is one of the ugliest pieces of shit ever cranked out.

I've driven Honda Civics, Toyota Tercels, numerous Volvos including their ugly goddamn station wagons, and why was thing even released?

At least the Prowler looks decent, and that means there's at least one guy out there who had the balls to shove a V8 in one. It also holds it's value quite well for that reason, anyone who doesn't know about how weak it is is going to look at you.

On the other hand, you have the SSR, a dumb "retro" convertible pickup that some boomers in my area had in the early 2000s. Based on the platform of the TrailBlazer, with the only saving grace being the last 2 years had the LS2 V8 engine and a stickshift. It's probably the ugliest out of all the "retro cars" from the early 2000s IMO.

My Dad had one of those. They are entertainingly shit, and I have to admit that I'd actually kinda like to own one, given that I enjoy having vehicles that require constant tinkering to keep running.

I'm rather surprised that no one has mentioned the infamous Pinto. Then again, it's well known for being a pile of shit. The only thing a Pinto is good at is catching on fire.

Those weird three wheeled Mr. Bean cars. Failure or success? Pinnacle of British engineering?

View attachment 450307

On one hand, they're quirky examples of British engineering that somehow managed to survive the dawn of most of the remaining UK car manufacturers being sold off to foreign firms, but on the other hand they're slow, get scratched easily due to their fibreglass construction, and have their bodywork fragment into a million pieces or turn into a deathtrap of crumpled plastic from even a gentle nudge.

They also seem to attract their fair share of ugly modifications, too.
