Inactive Aziz Al-Yami / Hax$ - They played Smash at his livestreamed funeral.

I mentioned this set the other day. Sorry, not related to drama or anything, but a super fun set with young Hax, and quite possibly my favorite in the history of the game. It demonstrates everything I ever thought was sick about it, it's during a time where you still had rowdy crowds that weren't smelly trannies, and two dope characters (the ledge interaction at 5 minutes still gets me jumping out of my seat; and not a retarded ad read in sight).

Leffen is a bully and a dick, but afaik leffen is guilty primarily of talking shit to people. I'm pretty sure leffen was legitimately scared of the dude because of his obvious mental health issues even before the video dropped and it wasn't some conspiracy to exclude him from the community.
It's not just talking shit, Leffen also went after Hax's controller, The B0XX. The video Sprate Header posted goes into detail about the situation starting at 1:13:40
ETA: this 1hr+ long video from Smash Community alog Technicals goes more into how Leffen is an insufferable faggot and Hax got pretty unfairly fucked over:
Basically, Hax designed an ergonomic controller so that he could still play Melee despite his injuries. This lead to controversies, especially concerning whether The B0XX should be allowed at tournaments. Leffen tried to ruin Hax's project not only by strongly campaigning against legalizing the controller for tournaments (claiming it would be too OP), but also crticized the controller itself, stating that it's outdated, or that the build quality is bad. He then went on to promote Frame 1, which was essentially the same project, managed by people who earlier worked on The B0XX itself (This led to a legal case started by Hax), and suddenly he no longer had an issue with having ergonomic controllers allowed at tournaments. So even though Hax went too far with Evidence.zip 2, it's obvious that the Swedish hapa consistently tried to screw him over, even after Hax's numerous attempts at atonement for his past meltdowns.

"HE LOVED MELEE"

Imagine having that on a fucking tombstone.

dude, i own a b0xx. criticism about whether or not it should have been legal was warranted - like it's real easy to tell when people are using one, the characters just move differently. the unnerfed box was insane, you could pull off perfect wave dashes, perfect angles and wizzy-level sdi with very little practice.

i can't comment on whether the frame1's build quality was better because they were goddamn impossible to find.

The b0xx was my least favorite of the arcade-styled controllers that I got hands-on with, I enjoyed the Tier1 and the Smashbox significantly more. I did get to try out the Smash Stick at a major a while ago, but it just wasn't for me; I think I ultimately preferred a controller for Melee when I still played. Objections as to the legality and possible broader adoption of a new input device are completely justified, especially for a game that's used the same small pool of them for an extended period of time.

RIP.
Ok, i really don't mean to disrespect the dead and stir anything on what is a tragdey...however im hedging 50/50 on this being fake based on the statement alone, i don't know how or why, i can't really explain it, but it rubs me wrong and hax was pretty unhinged.

That being said i hope he is in a better place and at peace.

As expected, people/supposed "friends" of Hax$ are coming out of the woodwork to start lamenting Hax$'s death:

People like Hbox, who have a shitload of pull within the community, stayed silent over the last three years, never once advocating for Hax$ to be unbanned. Granted, while Hbox did let Hax$ play in his event, that's one event out of dozens of others both within his home state and across the nation that he's not allowed to go to anymore.

The SmashWiki mods/editors are total faggots though

Look at how venomous the tone in the final few sentences of his page, then that token little saccharine "peacefully passed away" at the end. It's extremely on brand for the smash community, sums up the response from all of the people who have spent the last three years treating Hax$ worse than any of the pedophiles (Nairo) or rapists in their community, then flipping on a dime when being a hostile piece of shit doesn't give you the moral high ground anymore.

I expect Leffen to come out with a statement similar to this, "FUCK THIS GUY, HE'S A MENTALLY ILL PIECE OF SHIT WHO MADE ME FEAR FOR MY LIFE, but may he rest in peace."

A little of both, but Leffen is a total piece of shit crybully faggot. Every instance of Hax apologizing for Evidence.zip2 and politely requesting an unban from Smash events was twisted by Leffen and used to kvetch and cry about how Hax is HARASSING him and SENDING HIS AUDIENCE AFTER HIM (with no evidence ever provided, ofc), which the spineless incestuous faggots who run the Smash community hear and instantly kowtow to all of Leffen's whims, which meant keeping Hax banned.

I don't think Hax was unfairly fucked over by anyone. Unless you mean fucked over by Leffen, in that case you're right. Hax's evidence video was worryingly bizarre with the comments about hitler and shit; he deserved to get a critical eye turned to him for that. I only say this because I know now faggots are going to come out of the woodwork and say "Hax was treated unfairly!" even though he as guilty as charged in the case of scizo-posting.

That's not to say Leffen isn't a little faggot, of course. But one person being a faggot can't excuse faggotry elsewhere.

I hope there is a lawsuit. The tr00ns in power will never apologize or admit wrongdoing and so the only path forward is retribution.

He 100% got unfairly fucked over, because not even Hax contests that Evidence.zip2 was a schizopost! He apologized to Leffen and to the Smash Community multiple times for it in the years following the video, going so far as to make public the fact that he went to his doctor to got their opinion that the video was a result of an actual medical case of psychosis, but none of his apologies were ever enough - in fact, every apology was used to disingenuously continue the narrative that Hax was an unhinged lunatic that was out for Leffen's blood when that just wasn't the case.

Did Hax deserve to be banned for Evidence.zip2? Sure, that's not an entirely unreasonable take. Did he deserve to be banned for life, with no possible road back? Regardless of how many times he made genuine, remorseful apologies for his prior behavior? And did he deserve to be repeatedly and continuously smeared as a bad actor using his audience to harass other Smash players when all he was doing was apologizing to them? No, and to suggest otherwise is ridiculous.

No one's arguing that Hax didn't deserve flack for Evidence.zip 2, it just wasn't something that was worthy of a lifetime ban across multiple games and communities.
The weird humiliation ritual of the TOs announcing an indefinite ban, having Hax$ apologize to appeal, playing victim claiming that Hax$'s fans are sending harassment and hate towards them, then extending the ban on loop until it's permanent with no off-ramps or chance to reconcile was absolutely unreasonable.
Was Mew2King a big friend of his? He's going on his own lamentation journey on Twitter.

Yes, him and Mew2King were close. Mew2King is the exception to the rule, he spent his time openly calling for Hax to be unbanned and shown more support for him than anyone else in the community. He has the right to lament Hax's death. I'm pretty sure his video pointing his followers to Hax's GoFundMe are the reason why it was around like 85% yesterday.

This could have all been avoided had the TOs not gone on a powertrip, and instead laid out a definitive path for Hax to rejoin the community after some temp ban instead of dangling the vague promise of being unbanned in front of him before yanking it away at the last minute and announcing permabans.

The job of any good community leader/organizer is to be pragmatic and communicative.

Imagine killing yourself for a community full of man-children and pedophiles. Couldn't be me or any of you i hope.
It sucks to watch a thing you loved that was such a formative part of your life that you poured years into be corrupted and co-opted by shitty grifters and scumbags, and to be kicked out by them after they essentially take over that thing you loved. They take it from you, call you the bad guy, act like they were there the whole time, then ruin it. I say this as somebody who was ostracized from my own community after not gargling tranny dick.

I have sympathy for hax$, but the dude was actually psychotic to the point of posting multiple hours-long delusional videos about leffen. Then he acquired a fanbase that was complete aids - in fact, leffen was probably less worried about hax$ than the hax$ dickriders later on, he got death threats from hax$ fans and dropped out of tournaments.

It's a tragedy that this happened because hax$ was borderline brilliant, a great player, and his controller was really solid and well thought out. the melee community is unfortunately a tranny-infested cesspool and I can't really fault anyone individually for how this situation played out.
