I never really liked sharing the stuff I draw because there is allways something I dislike about it (I am very critical towards my art in general), so sorry if I seemed pessimistic in the way I described it.Shut up!! Guess I should post my redraws of the Hazbin Hotel cast since I’m making a redesign vid. They’re not perfect. I tried putting some effort in designing the characters related to their death and/or motif. It shocked me that Vaggie is supposed to be a moth....
I replaced Angel Dust’s multiple arm thing and just did appendages that can shoot out from his back that can poison people. Since he loves doing drugs he could have this poisonous aspect of him.
Alastor was the one I couldn’t nail a face to. He probably would’ve been he was a deer head. Also he should resemble more of an antique radio or incorporate the design of it...

Alastor is my favorite out of the bunch! I just appreciate a more muted color scheme and you can tell he’s suppose to be a deer.

Thank you! It really bothered me how he barely even resembled a deer...His horns are so fuckin small. He's more of a fox than a deer. Probably would've worked better as a fox. Also he's bigger than the main 3 because he's supposed to be powerful and an Overlord.

Damn these are actually really good! Personally, I think the current designs are just fine, It's no use trying to change them now, but your designs nail the shows aesthetic and I can very clearly see them being in the real show, maybe not as redesigns, but alternate characters.
I like Angel Dust's outfit here, it looks like you've taken inspiration from Ashley Nichols human angel dust design with the pinstripe pants and fur coat, and I can imagine it being something he could wear in the series.

I'm basically polishing a turd, but I decided to redraw Ken Penders' very original definitely not Knuckles ripoff character Lara-Su.
Here's the original art:
So Ken has the unique issue where he actually can draw realistically pretty well, and he can do the Sonic style ok, but if he tries to do anything else (such as take characters he originally made for the Archie Sonic comics and redesign them for an original story) complete nightmares occur.
So what I tried to do was make this character still cartoony, while not necessarily reading as the Sonic style. Lara-Su has the Knuckles headspike things plus hair which is goddamn weird, I think Penders tried to explain it as hair on top of tentacles. Which is goddamn weird. So no awful red wig for this Lara-Su.
I ended up having a lot of fun and love how she turned out.

Thanks! Lol DLC alt costumes. Hey it worked for Skull Girls with Fukua.
(I know she's an April Fools Joke but still. A color palette swap turning into a separate character to be put into the game officially is funny to me.)
I don't know who Ashley is. I just looked up men's fashion from the 1930s and did pinstripe. Also the fur coat was me think what the male equivalent to a feather boa. Ya know, like vintage cabaret women and flappers would wear to show how outgoing they are. AD's current outfit doesn't look like it would be from the 40s.....Maybe the 70s with the stipes and boots...

Most of the HH redesigns I see have a malicious intent behind them (mostly because they hate Hazbin Hotel) and let's be honest, people who redesign characters with bad intentions end up with a pretty ugly art 90% of the time.
That being said, I really like these designs, they look great (and yeah, Alastor looks pretty hot). I can tell a lot of care and research went into these unlike most of the redesigns I see of them.

Thank you! Yea I'm going to be doing a review of HH and I really don't wanna come off as one of those mad haters of Vivvine or HH in general. It's harmless honestly, just had elements that affected my enjoyment and ended up not liking it in the end.
I also like to use the word "Redraw" because it doesn't come off as douchy like Redesign does. I try to take what the creator was going for and go from there.
Understandable but I think it's fine to use redesign because these are technically those and based on context, people can tell if you are being douchy or not. Usually using the word "redesign" and then giving a small criticism of your art can help a lot with the tone you are trying to set, which is "I am not better, this is just my vision for these characters".
But never use the words "fix/fixed" when talking about redesigned art, that's something even I can't defend nor do I want to. I'll automatically write you off as a douchebag and you'll never be able to change my opinion on that lol.

Well even if angel died in the 40s, he's been in hell ever since then, and he no doubt would have changed his style as time went on.
What I was referring to was this sketch from Ashley Nichols Twitter:
See, fur coat and pinstripes. It also does look a lot more 1940s with the suit and fedora(Panama?) hat.

It's a ripoff of Bette Noire, from the animation of the same name that occurs after the true ending/pacifist run of undertale as the monsters have returned to the surface. I've only watched the first few episodes, but that was a long ass time ago. Your design is super cute tho!

Decided to redesign one of Tearzah's characters. Specifically, this one.
Decided to lean more into the e-girl inspiration, while also keeping some inspiration from the original design, and making her more clearly a gamer girl. Glitch effect was just something I wanted to do for fun, as the character's supposed to be a computer virus, and I wanted to see what I could do with that.

I actually kind of like the original design, this is more tomboyish, which isn't a bad thing, just different aesthetic I feel. Both designs can work.
