wow her veneers are GREY. your teeth should have the tiniest bit of yellow in them; I’m not talking full on butter teeth but you look really weird if you do zero yellow. If you’ve ever done casual retouching in photoshop you know what I mean.

If 100s of pages of Skyrim mods were any indication, I'd say you're right. Seeing a lot of similarities here.

For actual conversations sake though, I don't think you're too off the mark here with "bad" plastic surgery being a status symbol. Seeing Joan Rivers' esque older ladies automatically makes me think of a little well off white privilege, and for some feminine folks that seems to be what their going for. They're viewable and instant status is more important to them than what it will end up looking like, or what it DOES look like. On the flip side, similar procedures done recently (boob jobs, some lip fills etc), generally seem more successful, and we just end up seeing/noticing the sad off chance that someone should have their license taken away.

The enamel that covers the core(dentine) of the tooth is a bit translucent, this can be seen mostly around the edges where the surface is at its thinnest. Some light penetrates the enamel and diffuses, scattering the light in different directions. With white Lego bricks for teeth there isn't any scattering within the enamel that would illuminate the teeth and reduce the "contact shadows" that forms in the place where the teeth meets, that's why the spaces between her teeth looks so dark.

Here are some white lego that I just googled, notice the very dark shadows where they touch, similar to her teeth.

It's one of the things that the brain subconsciously looks for and nopes out of if it isn't there, same with skin(everyone has put a flashlight under their hand and seen it glow through it, the skin is translucent, not made of rubber, the eye notices) and a lot of other stuff.
Unnatural teeth was one problem with older CGI that made it look fake even if the viewer didn't know exactly why it looked fake. It's an uncanny valley type of thing and there's been a lot of research and development in that area.

They tend to look alike when they start to go monster, the surgical procedures they get are kind of the same. Though your picture looks a bit like Rachael Ray, who I've watched more of than I want to admit.

Queen of the 2010:ish cooking/homemaker shows has to be Sandra Lee though.

Saw this thread and thought about Rourke and you beat me to the bunch. He was known for having botched plastic surgery but now I think he's lost his hair and really looks horrendous. Is this what living in LA/Hollywood does to people? His grey hair weave/glue in what ever you call it is HORRIBLE.

I feel bad for Mickey Rourke, because if I recall rightly, the first of his messed up plastic surgeries was because he was legitimately trying to fix a broken nose and it was a horrible botch, which has just led on this slippery surgery slope.

Post-mastectomy reconstruction can be pretty rough, usually it can't be done right away and sometimes not at all (depends on your overall health, how much muscle/tissue you have left, how damaged it is from radiation, etc). Usually it's done by placing tissue expanders which are small, temporary implants that you get inflated gradually with saline every few weeks so the surrounding tissue can grow enough to eventually support a more permanent implant. If the patient needs a nipple reconstruction as well (sometimes they can be spared during a mastectomy) they can do this a few months after the initial reconstruction has healed. They are usually reconstructed with skin grafts taken from elsewhere (thigh usually), but I understand that some doctors can create one just from the reconstructed breast tissue now. Then the nipple and areola are tattooed afterwards to create a more natural appearance. What really tests the surgeons' skill is when they are reconstructing only one breast and are trying to make the patient look symmetrical.

I don’t, Mr. Wannabe Boxer was famous for beating the shit out of his girlfriends.

Losing his pretty face at least made it harder for him to find women to put up with his abuse when his career was in the shitter. (Now that he’s got a bit of his career back I’m sure he can get far too young GFs again)

Given he was covicted of beating his young wife Carre Otis in the 1990s it’s amazing he hasn’t been burned at the stake in the current era where a ass pinching or weird hug twenty years ago gets the #MeToo lynch mobs out in force.

There's been some rumors going back to at least the 90's that he's... closeted. Maybe that gives him some protection somehow, but yeah, it's weird. Tony Curtis still gets shit and he's dead. 9½ weeks was the 50 shades of gray 30 years ago(hm, even his character's last name is Gray and the author of 50 shades is the right age). He probably had some women stanning for him for a couple of years after that but that should have subsided, it's not like he's a sacred cow or anything, no one goes to bat for "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man" or "Double Team".

The nose thing could have come from drug abuse or maybe that obviously fixed boxing match he took at the tender age of 61. Lots of rhinoplasty and getting punched in the nose mixes like booze and sleeping pills.

Artie Lange is the most recent big-ish name that has fucked up his nose by snorting massive amounts of drugs over a long time, but there are many more that looks way too gruesome.
He said he won't get plastic surgery though, his nose would just get fucked up again because he's not going to stop using drugs.
