The Chinese model in the ad was apparently a natural beauty and the memes damaged her career. I can see how it all started because her natural features are the ones that Asian surgeons often try to replicate.
Yeah, it was all fake, photoshop and shit, but the ad was real. The ad was real! Ask yourself, what were they advertising? It wasn't ugly kids that they tried to sell people.

I’d say it’s already there in some countries, for example in England it’s especially bad because even your beauty therapist or brow lady can do injectibles if they go on a short course. At least doctors actually take an oath not to fuck you up LMAO
English women seem to be thrilled by any opportunity to look trashy.

In Kpop, there are some naturally beautiful people. But obviously it's rare. To compete in the beauty department, Kpop companies get their dedicated trainees plastic surgery. Usually this happens in the 14-16 age range. With nearly imperceptible procedures. This is combined with skin whitening and a beauty makeover. The companies then have the ability to have a certain level of plausible deniability about things. Simply saying "they just grew into their face" "they lost weight" or "stopped going to the beach so much". But occasionally Netizens end up tracking down old photos showing the level of change.

The normalization of plastic surgery for children in some Asian countries makes me sad. It's one thing for an adult to decide they hate their jaw, or for an older woman to try and recapture her youth through plastic surgery. But when literal children are told they are built wrong and need to have their face and bodies reconstructed, I just can't imagine it makes them feel good about themselves.

It happens in the west too, but it's usually kids with plastic surgery obsessed mothers.

It's amazing how much better the Korean girls look after plastic surgery compared to the Western girl. If the Koreans had their noses done as well, why the hell do Western plastic surgeons keep sucking at noses? But it is unfortunate that they make still growing teenagers get work done.

Still have those issues in the states. African kids in trouble at school for wearing their hair natural.

It's also important for getting certain jobs and I'm not talking about acting or fashion model. Nope, government jobs(!). It's not just about education but also good looks.
It's actually an interesting thing to note that in the United States, it is not customary (and I believe illegal) to require a photo on job applications. I believe this is a unique aspect of American culture. From what I have read, it is normal throughout many Asian and European countries to attach photos of the applicant to job applications. I wonder if it is forbidden and/or discouraged anywhere else.

This is combined with skin whitening
I always thought it was darkly interesting how Asian women will spend thousands of dollars on dangerous treatments to make their skin lighter and huwite women will spend thousands of dollars on dangerous treatments to make their skin darker.

It's just that peasants have to work outside and get tan, meanwhile the finer people can stay inside. It was that way in Europe too, in an era where they used mercury to make their skin lighter.

There was an Israeli study focusing on the tech sector(I think) that concluded that pretty women should never, ever attach a photo to their resume/application, it makes them less likely to get an interview. No picture or a dumpy picture is better.
Pretty men should always attach a photo though, it raises the chances of getting an interview.

HR was the common factor, they hated pretty ladies but luuved pretty boys.

That's probably because of several factors.
  1. They're getting their surgery through an idol company that specializes in this shit. The idol company knows what it's doing, which is why...
  2. They go to a good plastic surgeon, who knows what they're doing.
  3. Instead of following the instructions of the girl or her parents, who might ask for something difficult, or that will just look off once it's done, the surgeon gets discretion to make the changes THEY think will work the best for the girls' faces. This usually means a lot of relatively minor tweaks that work within the facial structure that's already there, instead of drastic changes to one or two facial features, which is what women who go in for their own work usually demand ("I hate my nose, make it smaller, plz. No, smaller than that.").
  4. Related, they're not catering to plastic surgery addicts who keep coming back and getting more and more extreme changes until they look like an abomination.
  5. Survivorship bias might also play a factor however. We may simply not see some of the less than stellar results, because the company drops them...

Hmm, I wonder who the HR departments were staffed by...

I was scratching my head until I read your final sentence. It makes perfect sense.

It's really sad how hot she thinks she is. I'm sure any female who thinks otherwise is totes jealous.

Yikes.
