I feel bad for her because she had moments of lucidity where she would be bluntly honest about why she was doing the surgery and how much she regretted them. She actually reversed a few of her surgeries and seemed to be getting better, but then she relapsed and got more work done, and just seemed to spiral after that. She was a very troubled woman that grew up doing drugs and having sex when she was 12. Her life has been bad for a long time. I hope she's at peace now.
We live in a world where surgery is sold as a cure to mental illness. This is of course most prevalent in the world of pooners and troons, but it applies here as well. in 50 years, we'll look back on "gender affirming care" the same way we look at lobotomies now.

For all the talk about mental health awareness these days, there's hardly a whisper about actually addressing it.

From "Hope of Morning" by Icon For Hire:
Nowadays all the kids want crazy
Wanna diagnose themselves
Trade up made up epidemics
Pass around prescription pills
My disorder can't be cured
by a bottle, blade or dose
Self disgust and selfishness
tend to hold be awfully close

I know it's cheesy as fuck to include that but I love that song and it feels apt.

I really liked Louis Theroux's subculture documentaries. He was quite prescient with some of them, like the tranny one. In his plastic surgery episode one of the plastic surgey addicts said the following
If you have an ugly nose, you can go to therapy for years until you accept it, or you can get it fixed in a week.
This was a 40+ y.o. guy that had facelift, tummy tuck, fake abs, fake biceps, etc etc.

I don't think all plastic surgery is bad. But if your body is LARPing as the ship of Theseus as you replace every single part of it one by one, your body might not be the problem, your mind is.

The thing is, you can't. It'll be weeks before you see the final result and you can't guarantee you'll like it.

It probably doesn't help that going under the knife, elective or not, usually comes with a bottle of painkillers.

I went to school with a girl who had a nose job - which was incredibly unusual in Norf Britain in the early eighties. She had a disproportionately massive nose with a big bump on it and got it fixed and she was genuinely much happier afterwards.
I don’t have an issue with that, or with something like a tummy tuck after you’ve had five kids if the skin is loose and bothersome. Yes she could have had therapy but I don’t think she’d ever have liked it and it really affected her.
I also agree that pain can be lifelong. I knew someone who was born with six toes and had one removed and regretted it - it was always painful and she still couldn’t wear normal width shoes. It’s certainly not something to go I to lightly, all surgery is a risk.

you didn't even have to tell me it was a woman that did this.
ONLY a woman would do something like this, a man wouldn't even notice he has 6 toes.

I get wanting to fix a giant snozz, people are going to see that shit 24/7 you'll get your money's worth.
but an extra toe? no one is going to see that shit, and all that suffering is for nothing unless the first thing out of your mouth is:
"I had an extra toe and I cut it off" to every person you meet, it's the only way to get your money's worth now.

if you put me in the same room as someone with 6 toes thinking about cutting it off.
they'll walk out of the room with 6 toes. That's a promise.
I can imagine 6 toes being pretty inconvenient for shoes since the front of your foot is wider than average. Especially those women's shoes with heels that taper into a point. Some women had the bright idea to amputate their little toe to make walking in those shoes less painful. (that also is a terrible idea as you actually use your little toe for balance)

from the sound of it, either way you're going to have an inconvenient time with shoes.
ano

edit: I have just noticed I am in gorl tawk, and clearly the "just don't wear heels" point I was going to make
will have me killed here. I apologize for any cultural misunderstandings

This is not exactly a glowing commendation..
it never was. it's just the truth, just like how I knew only a woman would get a toe surgically removed,
because a man would never go to a doctor about it. they just don't do that until it's too late.

look at me, I didn't realize where I was until it was too late.

Considering you say she regretted it, I assume it wasn't medically necessary and only done for cosmetic reasons, for lack of a better word. Choosing which toe to remove is tricky. Your pinky toe might seem like the obvious choice, but that thing is crucial to balance. I've PLed this elsewhere, but I was born with a short extensor tendon in my right foot and my pinky toe didn't reach the ground when I walked. As a result, I spent the first 20ish years of my life spraining my right ankle several times a year. I feel for your friend. Can't say I wouldn't consider it if I were her.

This is the end result of grown men raping 12 year olds. Don't fuck kids, lolberts. It's clearly bad for them.

It's not uncommon for victims of child molestation to make themselves as unattractive as possible as a defense mechanism. There are many such stories on My 600lb Life - someone who's gorged themselves to the brink of death after being sexually abused. Mary Magdalene had the means to replace food with surgery.

Or poon out, or get fugly tattoos all over, anything to avoid drawing sexual attention. Others seem to cope by turning hypersexual. Like becoming a pornstar or fucking just about anything and anyone that asks. The more you read about it, the more you realize childhood molestation ruins a child for life.

It would be easier to just wear glasses, scrape back your hair, and wear frumpy clothing. Body modification seems like real overkill.
